Wii U gaming/collecting

Postby Sdav89 » Thu Apr 25, 2013 10:33 pm

I know the WiiU has only been with us since November of last year, But is anyone enjoying the system as much as myself? I'm enjoying the game pad with its touch screen, that is good to use as your map or inventory quick selector on games such as zombieU. Or even to switch gameplay from TV to gamepad screen, that's a pretty neat feature.

Also games can be had for relatively cheap on eBay, and Instore I'm picking up games on eBay from anywhere in the region of £10-17 so that's pretty good also. The old favourites like mario are still good fun, and nice to play using the game pad. Anyway just wanted to start a thread see if anyone else is enjoying the system.

Cheers Dav

I bought one on launch, played a bit Mario, and thats about it. To put it bluntly, there simply are no games I want to play. There are few released, and none grabs my interest. I dearly hope this gets better, because now I'm sitting on a 500 dollar paperweight.

Yep, definitely enjoying mine. Zombi-U was probably my favorite game last year, Nintendoland still gets played when friends come over and the gf and I are still plowing through New Super Mario. Would like Monster Hunter too but it's quite expensive. Very much looking forward to the new Wario game and Pikmin 2.

Haven't really bothered with Virtual console or anything like that as I have a good PC hooked to the TV (well, usually, currently waiting for a new GPU but hey-ho).

MRCL I can understand what you mean game wise no one ever rushes to bring games out for any nintendo system, I'm sure we will have some good games in time.

I'm glad there are some other people along with myself that are enjoying the system.

If there are anyone who wants a few games hit me up on here with a message and I'll add you. :-)

i really like the wii-u, doesnt get anywhere near as much play as the other machines though, nintendo land has only had a couple of hours play with mates, zombie u has only been in the machine once too, for me sonic racing has not come out of the machine since i put it in on boxing day, love that game

We'll all be singing a different tune by the end of the year. So many great announced games for the Wii U, even some third-party highlights like Deus Ex or Splinter Cell.

I love the system and the handful of games I own for the thing. Nintendo certainly did drop the ball in numerous ways with the Wii U launch and its early release window, but by the end of the year it's going to be a different picture. I'm already £42 in credit against the new Mario game (whatever it will be called, I'm referring to it as Mythical Mario ATM cos it doesn't exist), once that's paid off I'll be looking at the release schedules for the next one.

Sonic and Sega racing transformed is the best console version, apart from that nothing else I can think of.

LOVING my Wii U, just needs more games.

I currently own Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge, Nintendoland, New Super Mario Bros Wii U and Sonic all Stars Racing Transformed. Hoping the DLC is released for the latter at some point. I've downloaded Mario World (It was $1.50 to be able to take advantage of the Wii U extras so it was worth it,) F-Zero and Punch Out for .30 each. Otherwise, I wouldn't have bought any VC stuff since I have so much of it for the Wii that I transferred to my Wii U. Also downloaded Runner 2 and it's great. Looking forward to RE: Revelations, Deus EX and hopefully more.

Mario-whatever-it-is (the inevitable 3D one due?) is now fully paid off and I'm £16 in credit towards Pikmin 3, next I'll start paying off that er.. is it called 'X'? The one with the guy on the flying robot that turns into a motorbike who flies around beating up giant monsters? That one. Just need to sit down and play the thing for now, too many distractions. Oh, and need to play through Pikmin 1 & 2 :S

Being a huge Nintendo fanboy and not owning one of these consoles is the best way i can describe my overall opinion of it.

Happy if your loving it though, would never put down another's choice and tastes, its just not looking likely one will ever sit in my house till its obsolete, silly cheap and collectable.

Pikmin 3 and Luigi U are out today, hurrah. The future's looking a lot rosier, just need a Harvest Moon game and I'll lock the Wii U away in the downstairs toilet, where it shall be my electronic love slave. *whipcrack* I will get a PS4 eventually but the Wii U and the 360/PS3 are going to be all I need for 2014 if not longer.

Really surprised that Nintendo haven't jumped on a trophy/achievement system. Everyone else has.

Perhaps we could earn Nintendo coins?
