Staff roll and chips

Postby Tinpot Gamer » Sat Aug 25, 2012 11:34 am

End credits.
Staff roll.
The dudes that made this thing.
There's not a lot more boring than a list of names scrolling up the screen.
You know what makes it awesome? Music.

What are your favourites? I nominate the following:

Street Fighter II - So awesome, I can listen to this on loop for ages and not get bored of it. CAPCOM ALL STAFF!

Thunder Force IV - It rocks, a suitable reward and Technosoft continues to make the YM2612 sing right to the end. It's a shame it's a little short but, on the plus side, you unlock a load of Omake music in the options screen. Hit the road Jack. Crying time.

Super Mario World - I love how it starts quiet and gradually builds up into some ragtime madness, getting more obnoxious as it goes, cycling through the game's instrument set like demo mode on a Casio keyboard.

Perfect Dark - Rare did a great job of theming PD's music without entirely ripping off James Bond.

Sonic 1, with its medley and rolling demo:

Sonic 2, with the medley and that tear-jerker of an ending:

And... This one's not on YouTube, but the ending of Chuck Rock's great - the last level's music but played faster, with the same three screens of credits looping over and over. It doesn't end unless you press a button!

SSBM on the GC springs to mind along with Beautiful Katamari on the 360, Superb mini games at the end.

Came here to say exactly both of these. Nothing beats the Sonic Staff Roll medleys! All the tracks merge so well into one another - very catchy stuff!

I only just found out the other day via twitter that the Sonic 2 ending is Sweet Sweet Sweet by Dreams Come True, Masato Nakamura's band.

This is the only one I can think of that really did it for me.

Has that ever been used anywhere else?
