Blaze Consoles Incompatibility Thread

Postby JoeMD » Mon Aug 20, 2012 9:48 am

While I'm not sure just how many people on the forum have any of the various Blaze consoles, I thought that it might be a good resource for the retro gaming community to have a list of what games are in-compatible with Blaze's consoles. Having bought one of the Megadrive Ultimate Handhelds recently I've begun to find games that simply don't work with the system. I thought it might be a good idea to have a mater list of incompatible games for future reference. (Admins, if you don't think this is a good idea and the thread gets ignored, feel free to delete it.)

So far I can safely say two games I've tried don't work on the handheld but I'v much more to test. So if you've any of Blaze's consoles and have found a game that doesn't work post it here (including console and region info, if it's a cart system). I'm happy to maintain the main list.

Blaze SEGA Megadrive Ultimate Handheld
Michael Jackson's Moonwalker - does not load.
Phantom 2040 - loads but freezes after a few button presses
Michael Jackson's Moonwalker - does not load.
NBA Jam Tournament Edition - does not run
Vectorman - graphics and sound issues which make the game unplayable

Whilst I've not seen personally, I've been reliably informed that NBA Jam Tournament Edition is also incompatible.

Phantom 2040 - plays it doesn't freeze but the D-Pad will not work (can still move by jumping though)
Ottifants - the screen is off centre as in like a 1/4 screen too high up

Hmm, I couldn't get past the menu on 2040 but thanks for the heads up.

Could be quite possible we have different copies of the game itself? I can only move while in the air during a jump with makes the game a little playable but really awkward.

Possibly. I'll try downloading another copy and see what happens.

Yep that is correct, just remembered to test this one and just got a black and blue vertical stripe pattern on the screen.

Vectorman goes all funny too. Sometimes it crashes or the graphics get messed up. On occasion the sound gets choppy as well.

Main list updated.

Bloodshot: some graphics look glitched on walls, (Haven't got an original to compaire with this could be normal).

Mega Turrican: Graphics during gameplay glitch.
Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: The Movie: Screen scrolls up constantly during gameplay.
Ms. Pac-Man: Hates going left.
Nigel Mansell's World Championship Racing: Graphics during gameplay glitch.
Ottifants - the screen is off centre as in like a 1/4 screen too high up
Outrun 2019: Slight Graphical glitching on the left side of the screen but game is completely playable.

I know Blaze stuff gets a lot of hate but I like my little black n orange device.

Anyway, I have had no problems with Moonwalker on mine.

So anyway, on Ultimate Handheld:

Virtua Fighter has graphical glitches galore
Mortal Kombat doesnt have special moves for some reason
Contra Hard Corps doesnt run correctly
Zool doesnt load

Havent noticed any problems with the home console version ( I have the Streets of Rage edition) other than VR which we all know wont run.

On a side note my Mega CD does not like the Blazes 6 button controllers.
