Anyone love oldschool wrestling games.

Postby UltraMagnus » Mon Aug 06, 2012 11:15 am

I spent hundreds of hours on WWF on the NES, Super wrestlemania on the SNES, and of course the brilliant N64 games.

I have just been replayin In your house, and fire pro wrestling 6 man scramble for the Saturn and started thinking about picking up a few more.

I would love to hear what people think are the best ones to get.

WWF Wrestlefest Arcade is the best arcade game ever. Also the scene of my shortest credit play ever - into the ring in royal rumble, ran to other side straight away and was backdropped out of the ring - 30p for about 2 secs of game time.

For me personally, No mercy on the n64 is still the best wrestling game to date, that game had everything.

While I haven't played it a while (I'm sure mainvein wouldn't refuse a multiplayer match up at some point), both Smackdown games on the PlayStation are ones I thoroughly enjoyed when I was younger. Maybe it's time I take another look at them!

im always up for a good old wrestling match mate :-). wonder if there was ever an ITV world of sport wrestling game made with Big Daddy?

I think my favourite wrestling game (or the one i found to be most fun) was Def Jam Vendetta the first one, had loads of fun with that

Agreed, maybe it was because all my mates used to come round and spend hours on that.

Personally, I enjoyed a lot of time with Fire Pro Wrestling D (Dreamcast) and No Mercy. If you're used to the setup of Fire Pro, D is a definitely worth a try. I haven't spent much time with Fire Pro S, but when I find the chance to get a few friends over, I'm sure I will. The only benefit of S over D is having six players at once, however, D has eight wrestlers at once.

Aside from those two, WWF Raw on the Genesis/MD was my absolute favorite because of the amount of game modes and the multiplayer action.
Looking for cheap, good SMS games, but live in the States... Let me know if you have any for trade!

Fire Pro X Premium was always king for me.

If you're interested, I can do you a bundle of Japanese wrestling games on PS1 & Super Famicom for a nice price?

I can remember playing a WWF Royal Rumble game in the arcades when I was younger. I was amazed after playing on consoles that all 30 wrestlers seemed to be in the ring at once. In retrospect it was probably only like 10, but in 1993 that was insane!

I dont think Wrestlefest was ever beaten for me, I still load it up from time to time on MAME.

Theres an undated version coming out soon on XBLA with current roster wrestlers.

Always loved WWF Superstars in the arcades too.

On consoles WCW world tour and WCW Revenge were great, I spent hours on those. My friends used to play WWF Attitude on the PS1 a lot too, the create a wrestler was excellent, we would spend hours creating wrestlers not in the game.
