anyone spot anything rare?

Postby tux » Sat Jul 14, 2012 1:11 pm

hi all. am very new to posting on here but ive viewed the site for a while and seems to be the place to ask! i have been dabbling in buying and selling retro gaming stuff for a few years now, not collecting like you guys but i will keep the odd game/console i enjoy.
at a local car boot buying a few mega drive games, the chap tells me he has loads more stuff at home if i was interested-far to much to bring to a car boot apparently. so i said yes, poped round his place and basically was gobsmacked! just wanted to know if there was anything super special in this bunch? any help or advice would be great! this is not a for sale thread or anything, so hopefully it doesnt break rules on this site(i plan to play on this all yet :D )

I didn't look at the whole list, Hagane on the SNES is difficult to get a full boxed copy without having to pay £££'s! Blackhawk also is starting to get more rare.

Mega CD and 32X games are all generally more difficult to get good copies of as well.

the chap who i bought it off had said that he had been told that hagane was worth a bit, but he didnt really care-he just needed it all gone!
i fancy keeping a fair bit of it but my other half wasnt overly happy about me buying it all(i turned 30 not long ago), so i will have to get rid of enough to pay back the initial out lay just to hush her up. just wanted to know if there was any gems. thanks muchly for the replies so far.

the copy of blackhawk i have looks almost brand new. also i have put splatter house on the list in error, its splatter house 2-if that makes the world of difference :?
mega games 6? see, thats the sort of thing i would have no idea about. i assumed all the mega games comps were car boot fodder. exactly why im glad i posted this list! thanks.

and for anyone thats interested id paid 370 for the whole lot. i thought it seemed cheap, my misses thought id wasted about 350!

Megagames 6 vol. 2 and 3 are harder to get hold of than megagames 6 which is quite common.

aye. when i went into the blokes house, i was pretty stunned by how massive the pile of consoles and games looked. i thought he was going to ask mega bucks for it and id have to pass. he basically said "there is about 350 to 400 seperate items.....lets say a quid-ish each?"
i was said "yeah, i guess i can do that" :D :D

thats a shame about the mega games pack not being the rare edition but to be honest i did some man maths in my head and decided the consoles alone couldnt be worth far off what i paid for the whole lot.

at least thats what im telling the other half. ;)

not really a for sale thread as im not sure what i want to keep and whats going to go bud. most of the ps1 and a good chunk of the mega drive stuff is on ebay/has been sold already. it was either duplicates of stuff i already own or stuff i wasnt interested in. you can always PM me though if there is anything in particular you want, i can only say no. if its something i definatly dont need/want then id be more than willing to sell on here.
