That era's a bit of a blind spot for me because I was hardcore Amiga user and wouldn't consider the 'vastly inferior' :) PC. I never even heard of #8 on your list but I'll Google it and I'd be very interested to hear other peoples suggestions.

Heh, tough question, but I'll give it a try. Having said that, for me the Golden Age of FPS was actually 1998-2001.

Star Wars: Dark Forces
Duke Nukem 3D
Outlaws
Doom
Wolfenstein 3d
Redneck Rampage
Quake
Terminator: Future Shock
Blood
Shadow Warrior

not quite fps but would beat some of the above for me:
Descent
Magic Carpet
System Shock

honorable mentions: Strife, Exhumed, Turok, Rise of the Triad, Chasm: The Rift, Hexen 1+2, Heretic
Responsible for: (Europe) GB,GBC,GBA,NES,SNES,N64,GC,32X,DC, MegaDuck, Jaguar, VC4000, N-Gage, Videopac, PlayStation, Vectrex

I don't think I could name 10 FPS that I played and enjoyed mainly because I was hooked on Doom.
Even now I know where all the bad guys are gonna be standing for the 1st 5 or 6 levels.

Didnt get into Duke Nukem. Played a little Quake.
The gamer formally known as Videopac.

i can only list 3, as there are only 3 i played from that era as far as i can remember :P

1. Quake
2. Redneck Rampage
3. Duke Nukem 3D

i'm not that huge on FPS games, unless they can be played co-op or deathmatch in LAN

I'm not a big PC Gamer, but has anybody ever played a shooter called NAM? It was based on the Vietnam war and was released right around the Doom era. Good stuff.

I think Rise of the Triad, Redneck Rampage and Blood will get my votes! I think I enjoyed quirkier FPS games when I was a child.
