Nintendo 64 Pikachu edition? will it rise in value?

Postby Superh » Sun May 27, 2012 11:00 pm

Hey. I was thinking of selling my Nintendo 64, Pikachu edition. It is the one in this picture and it is PAL version.

I thought this would be the best place to ask this...

Any idea on what it is worth? i was thinking £30 most. Here is the popper though: Is it worth hanging onto it? I don't really need to sell it. i could keep it. realistically will it rise in value a few years from now? I know it is a bit limited and somewhat rare compared to bog standard grey N64

thanks!

p.s i was also wondering how this was sold in the UK? was it a promotion or was it sold in many stores? thanks

Toys'R'Us def sold this... It probably will increase in value as long as Pokémon keeps going, however I can't see it becoming significantly expensive myself? The NTSC-J version is more fetching IMO, and has dual functionality with the option of being USA/JPN with the slightest of modification.

To be honest it looks like a Fisher Price toy.....hardly what Retro-Hardcore gamers would want.

Wait until they release the next game/new cards etc when it is fresh in peoples minds and then list it on fleabay with a really detailed write up would be my course of action.

I can't see the price rising more than inflation, so no. It's incredibly common and there's no demand.
