A brand new New Super Mario Bros. (DS) - bought six DS games in CeX for £15, Gamestation gave me £29 trade-in. Can't complain about that - £15 for a spiffy fresh one or stay in CeX and buy one that looks like it was fed to a dog for £22?

Coincidentally, I got the same game today, complete and mint for a tenner posted :D . I've wanted to give this a go for a while now but the game never seems to drop more than a few quid below the brand-new RRP in places like Gamestation so I'm well chuffed with that price.

Now that is a bargain!
Mind you, the DS is one of those where buying games online should be a last resort IMO. Don't think I'll ever find a cheaper new copy on the high street - maybe about 5 years for a second hand one!

In the last week or so, I've obtained Xenoblade Chronicles, The Last Story and Pandoras Tower for the Wii (all bday presents) and I also bought Duke Nukem Forever for £3.85 brand new, can't complain.

Cool bday presents, be sure to register those codes on club Nintendo for a chance to claim the coin collection.

Finally nipped in Grainger Games for the first time, was underwhelmed to be honest.
Still picked up World Snooker 2008 and Touchmaster to add to my growing DS pile.

Picked up some more games to add to my sealed Mario games collection

All 3 of these for less than £47
Image

Also picked up a copy a Super Mario 3D Land & the Japanese version on NSMB DS (which comes in a yellow box the same size as a 3DS game)
Image

& picked up the Japanese version of th Mario 25th anniversary set (the games come cellophane sealed, unlike the UK versions)
The artwork is better than the UK & the music CD features the Famicom rather than the NES.

True, and the Wrexham store is also very small. I thought Game was cramped, that was nothing!

I've recently acquired a 3G PS Vita, along with Wipeout (comes free when you top-up the SIM with a fiver),, Uncharted and Ridgeracer. I'll get a picture up tomorrow, as I love the thing to bits already.

But I felt the need to point something out to you folks regarding the little-known Tesco trade-in scheme, as someone who works there: their game trade-in scheme has been a total disaster, for the most part. To keep the pre-owned shelves looking full, because insufficient numbers of customers are trading games in compared to the number of purchases made, Tesco are actually labelling new games as pre-owned. Literally, our store regularly receives consignments of games which are completely new, aside from the wrapping being removed (and the seal being cut on 360 titles).

I'll take a photo to demonstrate tomorrow, but these essentially new titles can be identified by the white barcode label affixed over the real barcode, rather than the yellow store-printed labels used on genuinely pre-owned titles.

Have a look. It's a bit of a gamble as different stores are sent seemingly random consignments of titles (to maintain the illusion, I suppose) but there are occasionally some good prices on desireable and essentially brand-spanking-new games.

A few bits through the door and few bits picked up with my voucher hoard....

(went for a DSiXL in the end - considering saving the other credit for a wii-U. Couldn't justify 2 x xbox 360 slims and 2 x Kinnects)

Right. Here she is:

Isn't she beautiful? Even in a photo taken by an iPhone that screen looks amazing.

Over the last few weeks I've also picked these up (all brand new, including Alpha Protocol which I picked up for a couple of quid after learning about Tesco's 'pre-owned' debacle):

I'm not sure who's signature that is on The Witcher 2. I presume it's one of the developers, 'cause it came to me like that from Amazon sealed. It's a real signature though. I'm assuming this means I'm now rich 'cause I have a signed copy of something.

I've got the same! It's pretty good, I think there was 1000 copies. I just hope the time they spent on signing each sleeve wasn't wasted on the game getting rid of bugs!

(I'm 3 hours in and it's not that buggy...yet  )

Well according to Digital Foundry on Eurogamer they spent a lot of time porting the game over from PC, and have improved the game engine to even be better than the original PC version in some ways. I've had a bug-free experience so far and I haven't heard of any horror stories yet! Bethesda didn't make it, so we're alright!

I'm maybe three or four hours in so far so I can't comment, but it is a lot more difficult than I was expecting. I've been spoiled with easier games I think. So I'm saving it for my looming unemployment when I'll have time to sink my teeth into it; looking forward to the challenge.

Cracking on with Mario Galaxy now. I've played the second, so I thought I may as well play the first, and as I managed to pick up a cheap Wii component lead I can finally get my Wii working on my new TV (which came sans any composite connections, but it's so lovely I forgave it). And I love it. It's one of those games that is just pure, unbridled fun, without any pretences about being something else. It's reminded me why I started playing video games in the first place!

Exactly what I thought! It was hard until I got to Level 8 and upgraded some weapons and armour - however compared to Dark Souls (which I've not got past the first level!) it's a easy

Dark / Demon Souls are two games that I haven't played, but really feel the need to. Just so I can say I have played them, if for no other reason!

Well I think I only managed level 4 or 5, so I'll see about making things easier for myself when I get around to playing it again!
