What are your rarest/most expensive games?

Postby SaiyanGoku9001 » Sun Apr 29, 2012 6:33 pm

Hey everyone.I'm new to the forum but anyway,I want to ask, what are your rarest/most costly games? :?:

Mine are a boxed PAL copy of Conker's Bad Fur Day,Tombi/Tomba 1 & 2,Panzer Dragoon Saga and Metal Gear Solid:The Twin Snakes.

I also have Klonoa disc only on PS1,Vib-Ribbon,Super Mario All Stars-25th Anniversary Edition,Pokémon XD:Gale of Darkness,Zelda:Twilight Princess(Gamecube version) and Metroid Prime Trilogy which are are all pretty pricey as well.

Probably the Firemen for SNES. When a game reaches over 200 euro's I usually sell them because I think it's silly.

Don't have anything massively rare but a few standout ones like Tales of Symphonia (GC) & Rez (DC) amongst others.

I want Rez on Dreamcast so much!I only own the PS2 version.I hear the Dreamcast version is better in some ways.I forgot to mention I own Tales Of Symphonia on PS2 with a SwapMagic disc since the game was only released in Japan on PS2.

Although I don't have games that I could consider rare now, I once bought a six-switcher Atari 2600 (pretty cheaply) that came bundled with a few games. One game was Boing! (http://www.atariage.com/software_page.h ... LabelID=40) <- Atari Age places this is 8+ ( Very Rare+ )
I could have sold this one title for around £120 - almost TWICE what I bought the whole package for!

According to the Database, my Art of Fighting, Aero the Acro-Bat 2, Mutant League Hockey (MD) and Keio 2 (Saturn) are very rare...

I do also have Vib Ribbon with the poster, and Mega man 6 I think, the NES game that only was released in the US. Even the cartrigde alone fetches crazy prices (well for my modest level of collecting anyways), I got a CIB one. Bought that together with a boxed NES and five other CIB games.

Ah, this old chestnut :)

I've got a good condition Rise Of the Robots on MD, how any of these survived being smashed to pieces by rage induced teens who were bought the piece of crap amazes me to this day ;)

I should have a real rarity appearing on my doorstep any day now, can't wait to get my hands on it, been looking for one for about 6 years :p

Lessee..

For the PS1 I've got Castlevania: SOTN, Azure Dreams, FF VII, FF VI and some other RPGs which are less valuable but still collectible (Guardian's Crusade, Koudelka, Granstream Saga, Alundra).

For the PS2 there's Atelier Iris, Shadow Hearts, Dark Chronicle, Grimgrimoire, King's Field IV, Klonoa 2 (no ins. - boo!), Project Zero 3 (promo, bloody glad I kept hold of this one when I cleared out my PS2 collection awhile ago!).

For the Xbox I've got Morrowind: GOTY, KOTOR 1 & 2, Stubbs the Zombie, and Project Zero. They're the more valuable ones, I've probably got some rarer (more obscure) titles but at the minute it's difficult to sort out exactly what is and isn't 'desirable' for collectors because the market's temporarily flooded.

Gamecube-wise I don't have many individually pricey titles except Summoner: A Goddess Reborn and MGS: The Twin Snakes. I do have the full set of Zeldas, including the Four Swords cardboard boxed link-cable pack, Zelda Collectors' Edition and the dual-disc Windwaker. Also have the full set of Resident Evils, missing the manual for Code Veronica though which does my head in.

Have a couple of other titles on a few other systems but the above are the only ones I'm seriously collecting for.

The database embarrasses me on this one - says my rarest game is Mario tennis on the Virtual boy - utter lies! I have much better / rarer stuff than that surely!? It was bundled with the machine in the US when it came out so definitely an error there perhaps!

rarest thing ive got must definitely be the Zelda ocarina DEMO cartridge I have for the 3DS - pretty sure you won't find one in the wild.

any ways other stuff im particularly proud of -

Warioland Virtual Boy CIB mint condition - well better than Mario [insert generic sport here]
Shadowrun SNES CIB - amazing game - insanity prices online now too
Prince of persia SNES CIB mint condition
Burning rangers SATURN CIB
Several PS1 promo games - some with own packaging (see my pics on profile)
A few PS2 quality titles - Dark chronicle, Persona 3, the box set with Silent hill 2,3 and 4 in it.

but considering the games above that I love - oh no.. Its Mario tennis on VB. Deal with it Jim....

Unfortunately, I had this game, along with around 100 others and 7 or so consoles in a mates loft/attic...

...then we fell out and I've not seen them since :(

well, i don't believe it came boxed with the virtual boy, the database only shows rarity for boxed games, the cart on the other hand is very common

Haha Shadow Hearts, I got that with a bundle of 30 PS2 games for 90 bucks, I saw it in Gamestop before, used for seventy bucks...

Grimgrimoire is rare? My girlfriend bought that new in another Gamestop a few months ago for 15 bucks... they had a couple of those...

i don't think i have any real rare games, but what i have that i think is kinda rare or expensive is:
Dora the Explorer (sealed) - Gamecube
Link's Four Sword Adventures (Big Box) - Gamecube
Zelda: Twilight Princess - Gamecube

and i do have some titles that the database says is rare, but i only have cart's of them and not boxed

also have a few different Promos and Demos of NFS games, but not sure how rare they are
