Got myself a few new ZX Spectrum games and a C64 game :) Got them off of RetroGames and they were all either 50p or £1.

Played most of them tonight, and I enjoyed most of them! I really liked Zub, it was good fun. I enjoyed the batman game too, it took forever to load, but what I played of it was awesome. Park Patrol, Knight Tyme and the Horace games were all good too and I haven't tried Transylvanian Tower yet.

And then there was Airwolf. What can I say, at the start of the game I was defeated by a wall of blue blocks. It looks pretty, but it's bloody difficult

Heh, yeah the UKers really have no idea how hard the rest of us have it.

There's something about the Mega Drive I keep coming back to. Even though I also collect for DC and DS I'll buy an MD title over either of those console's titles any day. I just love the MD to death. :P

ZUB is a speccy classic - not sure if you have a 48K or 128K Speccy, but IMO the 128K version has some of the finest music on the system.

Another gameboy console added to the collection making 14 GBP (i think) so far!

Image

Also bought 2 other gameboy pockets from japan that i'm waiting on. A boxed pink console that i needed, and another green console but in a japanese box also. It's nice to have the different variants of boxes, also both consoles were pretty darn cheap with combined shipping!

Just a quick question, there has to types of silver gameboy pockets, the one i have with the silver screen surround, and another with a black screen surround. They made both officially, and it is not just replacement screens as there has different box art too. I was wondering if anyone knows why there has two types? I see more of the black screen surround ones in japan where the console was probably released first, so are they the original production run or something? :?:

You have got yourself some absolute classics there! These games really take me back. The Horace games were the first speccy games that I owned. I have no idea how it plays now, but I used to love Airwolf!

I bought one off ebay not so long ago, I don't think I paid much more than £10 for it. I don't recall it being particularly ground breaking or anything though, I can't even remember exactly what was on it!

I love Shadowhearts (not so much Covenant or New World). Aside from FFx, it's me fave RPG on the PS2.

The game is a great blend of solid old school menu driven j-rpg mechanics with a good old mix of quirky eastern demon lore thrown in, against a backdrop of the World War.

oh, it's also got a demon in it with a huge knob.

Something for everyone.

I can answer you those questions mate, the History of Nintendo is a series of books by Florent Gorges. Only the first two have been translated from French into English so far. Bloody good they are too. The first one deals with everything up to Game and Watch...so basically from their Hanafuda cards up to board games etc and the start of electronic gaming. The second one concentrates soley on the Game and Watch games. Ther's more to come...

http://www.pixnlovepublishing.com/

Pixel Nation was formed by a few members of RG but i think Lorfarius was the driving force (don't quote me on that though...i don't want to miss anyone out of the credits) ;) Here's their site, if you want to find out more:

http://pixel-nation.co.uk/

Hope that helps a bit :D

I have bought bought a couple of bits today, (for the first time in weeks but i'll take a pic or two and do a post later 8-)
