Hi, Jacques here from South-Africa. The retro games market here is very small but not giving up. Obviously I have to import a lot of stuff and not everybody ships to Africa. There are no shops here that stock anything pre-playstation 2 which makes obtaining retro games tough. Currently very focused on the sega saturn. Still need about 80 odd titles. My other love is rugby and I am a big springbok supporter. This is a great forum which I have been visiting daily since I joined. The tools are awesome and will only improve as time goes on. Well, looking forward to some good times here!

Hi! My name is Alexander. I was totally focused on getting a complete PAL PlayStation collection for many years, but I got to my senses and quit before I went totally insane. I've wasted so much money on **** Phoenix titles... now I only focus on stuff I actually want to play. In the process of collecting all these PlayStation-games, I sold all my other collections. Now I'm slowly rebuilding... It'll take time, but atleast I won't throw up every time I see 10 Raven Projects or Sven-Göran Erikssons just sitting there. 8-)

Hello All.

I’ve finally gotten around to singing up after putting it off for months! My name is Alan and I’m a video game collector from Ireland. Writing that last sentence makes it sound like attending AA!

I recognise a few faces from YouTube and the Sega 8 Bit forums, which is where I normally hang out. At the moment I’m focusing on my Sega Master System collection, which I’m hoping to get somewhere near completion this year.

Good afternoon - my 'real' name is Jonathan Town, my forum name is a combination of the 3 letters I used to use on arcade highscore tables (moo) and my surname (town) - mootown :)

I've migrated here from another similar forum as I wasn't happy with the atmosphere so hopefully this one will more friendly and relaxed :)

I have a huge Japanese Saturn collection but I generally love all games from all era's, my first console was a Binatone Pong system but I also have all current gen stuff too.

I work for a publisher who makes Mario games but I'm not biased because of that - in fact I went for the job purely because it was my ultimate job :) Any love for Nintendo is purely down to genuinely liking the games. Prior to this I worked at GAME and Gamestation head offices for 11 years, I only left in October. I used to work with all the other publishers in this job so I know a lot of interesting stuff, maybe it will be relevant sometimes, who knows!

Mostly though I hope to get involved in some interesting debates and discussions about gaming, as that's my passion, and even at 35 years old it's never go boring yet!

Hi Everybody!

My name is Rob and as you can probably tell by my username im a little bit nuts for the 16 bit era, more specifically the sega megadrive and the super nintendo. I am currently collecting selective games for both systems while at the same time also picking up for various other systems and handhelds such as the ps1, ps2, ps3, psp, DS, game boy and gba.

While I am new to this forum I am already familiar with a few of it's members since im currently an active you tuber. My channel page http://www.youtube.com/user/Tino777?feature=mhee is watched by a few people here already and I was in fact recommended this site by a fellow forum member.

I hope to be a regular active member here and expect to see me a lot in the retro sub forum. Well I guess that's it....

...keep on gaming :ugeek:

Hello everybody, it's chrismadagames here!!!

A lot of people might know me from my youtube channel, "chrismadagames"... This is a fantastic site. Ninjabearhug was talking about it in one of his videos and I've been ticking off some of the games that I currently own! Great fun, I really hope I get to meet a lot of great people on here!

Hey Everyone,

My name is Kenny and I have been collecting for 7 years now.
I started collecting by finding a NES game I used to play at my cousins home (Kung Fu) . I really wanted to play it again so I went and bought myself a NES on a flea market.

And then it started...
First I bought the games I used to play (Super Mario Bros 3, Captain Skyhawk, Chip and dale..).
But soon enough I started buying other games I didn't know. And at first I played the games I bought.

But after a while I was just buying them to get them all (like pokemon  ).
So after 4 years I focussed on games I liked and some special things like proto's, sealed games etc....and I sold all the rest.

That's all folks !

Hey guys,

I have always bought and sold retro games well since I was about 20 now 30 and still loving gaming with new and old games to the point where I have now decided to open up my very own game store....

I want people to appreciate gaming's past and I am in the process of setting up a room where all my consoles will be playable such as:

NES, SNES, N64,GAMECUBE,WII, MEGA DRIVE, MASTER SYSTEM,SATURN, XBOX, XBOX 360, PS1, PS2, PS3.

All consoles are going to be on display and plugged in and even tuned in!! ready to go if anybody wants to play on them!

I will of course be adding to my collection and have a few things in mind but basically just want a fun enviornment for gamers to meet and play and then with any luck sell a few games and consoles to keep me open haha :)

My shop is located in Prudhoe, Northumberland and is currently a work in development hopefully be open in a week or 2 at the most. so anybody from the North East who wants to come and want full directions please let me know

Cheers All

Alan

Hello all - new member here from the US (Greensboro North Carolina to be exact).

I'm old enough to have owned a ColecoVision when it was initialy released  I've started collecting again after having found my old modded PS1 and a couple of my favorite RPGs. I own an Xbox 360, but aside from Phantasy Star II it has not gotten a lot of love lately.

Now I own several systems, including an N64, Genesis, Dreamcast, PS2, Xbox (with XBMC) and my current jewel - a Saturn.

Would love to meet other retro collectors in the area.

Hi guys how are we?

I'm Griffo aka Greg. Gaming has been a large part of my life! However the collecting has only begun over the past couple of years.

It began when I was itching to play on my old Atari 2600 I had when I was younger, last I remembered my mom had given it to my aunty years and years ago so I managed to find that out from her and reclaim it haha! What mainly followed then was sourcing consoles I had previously owned as a child such as a Megadrive etc.

Since then it's blown into just finding whatever I'm in the mood for at the time lol which has lead to a collection spanning from the awesome little Atari 2600 jnr to my xbox360

Looking forward to having a good read around on here and learn what everybody else is upto in the retro gaming world :)

Hello :D

I'm Garry and have been collecting games on and off for a few years. Main areas of interest are N64, Gamecube and Megadrive although I never seem to be able to build up much of a collection before having to sell it for some unexpected thing or other!

I'm quite active on ebay selling under "gumblegames" feel free to have a look at any time :)

Hope to chat with you all at some point!

Hello everyone,

im Spawny aka Paul, from the north east uk. Just joined as im about to start my collecting journey. Im going for PS2 as i missed out on gaming for a long period (end of the 90's till a few years ago). So bought a second hand PS2 with controller & mem card, then went to get a few games but theres not a lot where i live  so i guess ebay will be my hunting ground.

Been playing games most of my life (well until i left school) started on the nes ended on the PS1.

random fact about me - i still cant believe i had a boxed complete (mint) secret of mana which i threw in the bin  the guy i sold my snes to didnt want it so in the bin it went (back in 1995 i believe, i had to make room for my PS1) i had no idea it would be worth anything now
