PSP Collectors

I thought it was about time a thread was created for the PSP now that the PS Vita is officially out and the PSP is now in limbo regarding modern and retro

Does anybody here collect PSP games? I have been collecting them since I bought my original PSP, and have got a nice little collection of 40 PSP games.

Also what are people's opinions on PSP UMD films regarding collecting? I've personally only got two. They could be the new LaserDiscs in terms of obscure and sought after?

Yeah, I've been casually collecting interesting PSP games I stumble upon, currently own 52 games for it :) No photo at hand though I'm afraid.

i don't really collect for it since i don't have a PSP to play them on yet, but i have managed to get 4games so far anyway :P 3 of them are sealed, i tend to pick up games for any console if i find them sealed for a cheap price, if for nothing else i can probaly trade them away at a later point if i decide that i will never collect for that system

Currently my PSP collection stands at 103 games - no intention of a full set, just games that have some historical gaming reference and/or games I want to play (i.e. RPG's). I've already started my PSP pictures in a dedicated album amongst my pictures and will add when I get around to it. I've also downloaded many download only games which are not listed here.

Here is the list thus far in alphabetica order as cut and pasted from my own database I maintain. If a UK/European version exists, this is what I have. If a game did not get a UK/Euro release it is the USA version and all RPG's are the collector edition box-sets if one exists:

Archer Maclean's MERCURY
ASTONISHIA STORY
BATTLEZONE
BLADE DANCER
BREATH OF FIRE III
BURNOUT LEGENDS
BUST A MOVE GHOST

I have about 190-200 ish pal games right about now, a collection i've build up over the last 2-3 years. love the Psp myself as it is a goldmine for rpg's and tons of obscure/unique games were released for it aswell.
Would also like to see a full list of retail games released for the systeù, not that i would go for a full pal set but pretty sure their are games i looked over that are worth playing.

Their are a ton of japanese games i would still like to add so far i've managed to get the following (psp system is japanes aswell) :

i'll take some pics of the pal collection shortly.

I have a teeny-tiny PSP collection but I play it more than my DS nowadays. As Segaseb said, lots of weird, unique games on there (seriously, there's a Battlezone remake just for the PSP?) but there's also a ton of nice retro collections (it has the only home port of Konami's best shoot-em-up, XEXEX). Also, while the UK seection isn't great, there's some decent downloadable titles, including Future Cop: LAPD. Here's mine, then.

PAL:
Bubble Bobble Evolution
Bust-a-Move Ghost
Capcom Classics Collection Remixed
Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles
Darkstalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Tower
Mana Khemia: Student Alliance
R-Type Tactics
Ridge Racer
Star Ocean: First Departure
Taito Legends: Power-Up

Japanese:
Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA 2nd
Salamander Portable
SNK Arcade Classics 0
Gaming Hell - BURNING ANGER RETURNS AGAIN
Updated 01/12/12 - Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA f
Also on Twitter! And Tumblr too!

i've been meaning to order grand knights history for a while now but as we all know stuff from japan is expensive, so i'll hold out until i see one without a riduclous bin price or in europe.

For psp collectors and fans of obscure and weird games in general, this is by far the weirdest game (non japanese and english language game) i've come across : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/psp-BROOKTOWN-HIGH-Complete-Playstation-/160716367148?pt=UK_PC_Video_Games_Video_Games_JS&hash=item256b71252c

i don't want to promote ebay actions at all that's why i linked a finished auction interesting thing is that my copy also has the 15 age sticker slabbed over the american rating no idea what happened their, (it never got released in europe as far as i'm aware). maybe somebody can confirm if they ever seen it in a uk store like that.
Also i would like to bet my money that this is going to be one of the rarest psp games to get within 10 years.

Now that is something quite unique! I've done a bit of research (the 5 minutes between radio adverts on Absolute Radio) and all I can find is the US version.

The cover does look recogniseable - and I could easily see some european countries slapping a sticker over it and calling it PAL. I'll keep a good eye out on eBay for this game, as well as other sites :)

I recently caught the bug of psp collecting with the recent game fire sale, the console is most definitely a gold mine for unnapreciated gems. Currently got my eye on a silver ff slim and lite. The auction also includes a box less promo of the sega mega drive collection which will fit in nicely with my sonic set. Recently been play prinny: can I really be the hero? And loving every punishing second of it!

The only problem I have with the PSP is its reliabilty. Since getting my first in 2008, I've been through three and with the state of my current one that's almost certain to become four.
As for my collection, I currently have 76 games and 7 UMD videos. Nothing really special, but I'm happy with it. Pictures to come.

I don't normally 'do' photos but since my PSP games were right next to me, there aren't too many and I love the system, I thought "why not?" :D . I only keep a core of games I enjoy/have some love for as I'm a gamer before a collector but I still like my limited editions and games to be nice and complete (no manky platinums either).

Image
Not tried Hot Pixel yet but I haven't heard good things about it. Might sell that one if it turns out to be a duffer.

Image
Never seen another copy of the PSP Mana Khemia before. I technically don't need it since I've got (and completed) the PS2 edition but maybe one day I'll want to start over in a portable fashion

Image
I collect Darkstalkers games so here's variants from all regions including the EU 'Essentials' re-release. Kept that one sealed purely because I don't need to open it.

Image
A few others I found in another cupboard (almost forgot about)

Image
Square-Enix Ltd/Collectors editions, all in as-new condition (I'm anal about keeping stuff in nice nick). Still missing a few.

Image
Some Ghostlight CE's. I'm currently playing the fabulous P3P and can't wait to start the other two. I also have the t-shirt that came with P2 but that's stored away elsewhere with the Persona 4 PS2 t-shirt. Got the poster for Trails in the Sky as well but that's stored away too.

Image
Dead or Alive Paradise Japanese collectors edition. There's actually a second CE for this game with a figure and possibly some other stuff. I wrote more about this...niche set on my blog here  .

I've got a bit of a PSP game/UMD collection going on, but nothing too serious at the minute. I can see me getting a whole load of games for the system in the future though as it's probably my fav handheld of all time :). I picked a component cable up from GameStation today too, so I can now play my 2000 on the big screen, and also record gameplay footage through my HD-PVR which is cool. Pity the Phat can't do TV out as I much prefer it to my slim, never mind though :). I'm not really sure how many PSP games/movies I have TBH, I'm always adding the odd one to the collection - must be knocking on for 40-50 games and around 20 movies at a guess. I was playing Killzone earlier to test out my new cable, cracking game :)
My Trade Feedback Thread

Currently Playing: Urban Strike (MD), Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy (PS2), Donkey Kong (GB)
Last Game Completed: James Bond 007: The Duel (SMS)

Im going for full set, and it would be really neat to have a checklist.
