Uhm, sorry to pile in on two unanswered ones, but I just had a brainflash - there was a game played on Gamesmaster I believe, as one of the contestant challenges. May well have been a Neo Geo game.

It was some kind of soccer game, but the players had special moves, like an overhead kick that sent the ball fireballing into the net - like an unblockable attack. The players were dressed more like speedball players I think, and one may have had a pony tail.

Always wanted to play that game.

*edit* I've done some looking, and I don't believe it's soccer brawl, so possibly not a Neo-Geo game then. However the palette and large sprites were very Neo Geo esque, so possibly SNES or Arcade?

Furthermore, the game was more or less overhead like speedball, but with bigger sprites, and the goals were left and right.

*edit 2* maybe it was Windjammers... I always wanted to play that too...

*edit 3* DOH! It was soccer brawl!!! Just watched a video!

Heres a couple of games that I remember from my youth, what they're called I do not know

Game 1 - Its a C64 platform game and you play as a caveman on a unicycle. Thats all I remember :?

Game 2 - An arcade shoot em up. You turn the enemys into a shadow, fly into it and you take control of that ship for a limited time. Someone told me it might be Gaires but, I have that for the MD and you take the ships in that and they team up with you. A bit like G-Darius on the PS1.

Help me put my mind at ease guys n gals.

Nightowljrm wrote:Alright, this one's gonna be kinda hard... It's been bothering me for a while. Some guy ported it as an app on the Android Market, I downloaded it, played it, thought it was awesome, got a new phone, and it's off the market... probably for copyright reasons, but I'm just speculating. Anyway, details about the game:

System: Famicom Exclusive (I don't believe it was for the disk system but I could be wrong)

Gameplay: It was a faster-paced 2D (duh) action game. The guy looked a bit like a samurai and had a bird, what I assume to be a falcon, on his shoulder you could attack with. I remember picking up multiple scrolls as items on this game, even from the very first level. Whether or not they work as coins or as MP or something, I do not remember... I think at the end of every level there was a card-based duel system, but it was nothing related to Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Digimon, or anything like that. It was its own thing as far as I know.

Level Design: I don't really remember many of the levels, but I recall the first stage (maybe level two of stage one?) had a part where the water rose and fell. You had to avoid it to stay alive. It was almost a beach-like, tropical, yet forest-looking level.

That's really all the information I can give... It's been a year since I've played it and I just remembered it. I'm dying to give it a proper playthrough.

The only game I can think of even remotely like this is 8 Eyes which was released worldwide. It has both the falcon (actually an owl) and the scrolls in each stage.

Anyway, I'm looking for something different- a demo compilation for the PC! We used to have it on the computers at school, but the reason I remember it is the interface- you walked around a giant space station in a FPS kind of way, and the available demos (including Arcade America and, oddly, Doom 95) were giant pictures you interacted with. But of a long shot, but does this ring a bell for anyone?

I need help (again!)
I'll will start with what I know, I am trying to remember a SNES vertical shoot em up. You played as a plane, the first level was over a forest and you had sticky bombs/mines as sub weapon.
Now for the stuff that I am not sure about, there may have been borders on the sides of the screen and you may have choose you weapon output similar to some of the gradius games.
A friend told me that it was Super Aleste but I bought an over-priced copy at the weekend only to find that the game I am after is not Super Aleste. (probably should've typed it into youtube before I got it, you live and learn ;) )
Any help is always appreciated. Thanks!

Could it be Thanatos?

In the game you played a dragon, and flying caused your heart rate to go up- if you didnt rest you had a heart attack!!

great game though.. :)

Cauterize wrote:The one to this date I still can't work out is on the Commodore Amiga.

I remember a beating heart being an end of level boss emerging from a wall.

Thats all I have to go by though and it drives me insane :(

Thanks for the suggestion but Thanatos is for the Commodore 64. I'm 99% sure the game I am looking for is on the Commodore Amiga.

Looking for a fighting game for the PSX I believe it was. The only thing I can remember about it was it being very ... mellow. A woman's voice says very calmly "Player Triumphant" when you beat the opponent or knock them over the edge of the arena. I think it began with an X or a Z but I'm not too sure. And I don't think it was human's that was fighting but rather robots? I don't know!

It isn't Zero Divide incase you see robots and make the connection!

It has been bugging me for months so any help is great

Thanks!

I checked youtube and it is Super Strike Gunner even though that name is completely unfamilar to me.
Excuse the late reply as I bought the game and it only arrived today and it is correct.

My dad borrowed it from his work place at the time. I had it around the time when I got the SFC (Very close to the SFC launch I think)
We had it with a flight simulator style of game (Point of view from the cockpit). It was supposed to be the most realistic flying game at the time. It had wire-frame style graphics. We could not get the damn plane to take off. I think we had it for a week tops before my dad gave it back. What was that flight sim game?

that is most likely Flight Simulator 1 for the Apple II, or Flight Simulator 2 for the C-64, both by SubLOGIC

there is a slight chance that it is Flight Simulator 3, which (apparently) was Flight Simulator 2, for the Amiga, though

I remember Flight Simulator 2 being impossible to start, as well

or should I say, I managed to get it started, but I never left the runway, due to the complexity of the controls

also available on other systems, but those were the most popular (AFAIK)

It would also depend on your pa's profession and how long ago it was. If it was mid eighties and he was a teacher, i'd go for a beeb model b and 747 Flight Simulator

isnt much to go on i know, but hopefully it rings a bell for someone that can help me
