The Retro Gaming eBay Thread

Postby Cauterize » Wed Sep 21, 2011 9:45 am

As an attempt to keep the discussion at RetroCollect on topic and interesting, the management team have decided to create a new thread to house any discussions to with eBay. This is to prevent discussion regarding our favourite games, interesting rarities and whatever we discuss getting lost in the sea of eBay threads.

So from here on, any posted regarding eBay; whether it is links to interesting auctions, problems with eBay sellers, questions regarding auctions or something similar, it will need to be placed within this thread.

We will be leaving the other threads open for now, however please do make use of this thread. New threads created about eBay will be merged with this one (except in extreme circumstances which we believe a separate discussion is important)

Smashing idea. There is something that kind of rankled me with people advertising their eBay shops, but on reflection, I couldn't justify why I felt that way about it. This is a great solution.

It only bothers me when people ONLY post links to their shop and don't bother contributing to the community in any other way :). I think Ebay has been a bit slow as of late, not been much good stuff at all listed, I did manage to bag a pretty rare MD variant though, only the second one I've seen for sale. I'll post a pic of it when it gets here :)

I second this.

Good idea. I love looking on eBay, even when I don't intend to buy things. So this sounds fun for me. :)

Yeah, just so you know, that guy has multiple copies of all the three big games. He must have bought old stock somewhere. In have his email address if anyone needs it for a direct offer outside eBay for any of those:

I thought it would go pretty fast, i swear it was priced a bit higher than the sale price (like £34).

I was seriously tempted to buy it for the games alone, but then i would end up buying another nes gameboy but boxed in the future =D.

Will try and post more gameboy bargains on here in the future, i pretty much look at every console listed on eBay!

But for the moment, here is a seller with some super rare console's on sale atm.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/ramrodius/m.h ... ksid=p3686

The prices are already quite high, but out of all honesty you will probably will not see these consoles listed for another 6 months of more! Again i am even tempted by the Pokemon Gameboy Light and the florescent GB Pocket, but i dont know how high i can go on them whilst trying to save money for a new computer!

P.S None of you better not win one of the auctions i go for =P

Very tempting and very kind of you to share, Stew. :D

As great as it would be in the collection, I'll pass as I have little intention of hunting down these boxes in the long term.

I can't believe it hasn't sold yet! I'm sure it won't see the night through though at that price!

Running pretty cheap as of now, tough in three hours a lot can happen. I'm really tempted, gonna have a look at how the price goes up, I might go for it. That is unless somebody here steals it :p

Edit: He has a lot of cool wallet-emptying stuff for sale...

I had my eye on the CLD A100 that guy is selling, but with shipping costs it's out of my price range for the time being :(. That Laseractive game bundle is still cheap though!

I know its rare and lovely and all that. However, I don't go for variants per se - and if I was to purchase this, I'd be tearing my hair out trying to find the others!

Thanks for sharing mate, but space for them all would be my biggest issue. At a time when I'm more worried about what to part with from my collection because of space, its difficult to go for variations of games I already have.

That's not to say that my finger hasn't hovered over that buy-it-now button this afternoon!
