O_o

That's more than I've spent on Borderlands (two play-throughs and first three DLCs), Just Cause (100%-ed) and Just Cause 2 (about 70%) combined! How on earth can you spend four-hundred hours on that game?! Haha.

I've done all playthroughs with all characters & started over. Also done the entire Moxxi DLC for a few people whilst they were at work so they could get the G's :ugeek:

I got the last DLC on hour 1 and finished it with the glitched collectables achievement. So I started yet another character on PT1, played until I could fast travel. Started the new DLC and got the missing achievement even with being totally under level  In doing so I figured out how everyone else could get the missing G before the Devs actually replied and their reply was a bit pap tbh? My technique was far easier and achievable, no patch required. I was also really hoping they would make the last DLC have a achievement for completing all the challenges 1000 duels etc but no :(

One of my finest gaming memories will be from Borderlands and some dumb hex editing scamp chav getting totally pwned and having the most hilarious tantrum of WTF afterwards! I would have felt real bad about the it but I was to busy crying with laughter.

Not entirely sure which thread to post this in (the "recently bought" retro or modern thread, I mean), since the game is from 2002. But it's System 10 hardware, which is based on the PlayStation...

Anyway: my Star Trigun PCB arrived today. It's quite fun, but the controls will take some getting used to... I'll give it a chance - I'm sure I'll come to really enjoy it. Plus, it has Mr Driller in it - and we all know that I have a thing for My Driller (these also arrived today). :)

I didn't even know this game existed! Have you played it much since you got it, what's it like?

As for me, picked up my 360 copy of Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 (my first online game, which started during arcade mode, should've been preserved for future generations regarding how NOT to play fighting games) and when I got home, DeathSmiles had arrived.

(On a related note, going into Gamestation and finding DeathSmiles on the shelf, nestled between Need for Speed Most Wanted and Medal of Honor, was quite a bizarre sight.)

Peeps,

on the note of Marvel and Capcom 3 - dunno who's aware but Tescos are currently doing a 20% off all games online promotion.

Good news if you're thinking of purchasing a recently released game. Marvel and Capcom 3 is priced at £40.50. Take the discount off and hey presto - £32ish.

Not stupendous but you'll be hard pushed to find it much cheaper anywhere else currently.

EDIT - It's actually that price in store as well. Not bad, just picked it up for the PS3 for £32. Nice!

I've given it quite a few credits and I'm really not liking it... I've not abandoned hope of an opinion change, but I don't see it happening. The biggest problem is aiming - especially once the speed increases. I'm finding it really frustrating.

I can imagine! What kind of ordering system are they using where "D" comes between "N" and "M" (and why are those two the wrong way around?)?! Madness! :D

Of all of Cave's games, I imagined this to be the least likely to get a European release. :)

That's a shame, it certainly looks interesting. A bit of Googling says there were Windows and iPhone ports- perhaps they fixed the problems you're having in those versions?

In Gamestation they have this 'new releases chart' thing (how it works, I don't know- seems to be the shop's own discretion) and DeathSmiles was at 19. In GAME, which has a similar system, it was next to Call of Duty Black Ops. Really, it's just amazing that they released it at all and it was actually in stock and it was placed next to games it couldn't be any more different from.

An iPhone-owning friend tried the port a few days ago after I told him about my problems with the game. He said the iPhone version isn't much better...

Double-post!

I went car-booting for the first time this year and bought these for £1 each:

Image

Nothing special, but I can't complain for the price. Well, except for Time Crisis 3 - that has no disc. I checked them all when sorting the games, but put that on the "keep" pile instead of the "don't buy this crap!" pile. Doh.

There was the usual stall selling loads PS2, PSX and even a few SMS games - but, as per usual, they wanted at least a fiver per game ("I could get fifteen quid for that on eBay, mate!")... Yeah, no.

And a new record for the number of stalls selling pirated DVDs! Five separate stalls. Disappointingly, they all had huge crowds around them - they were quite popular. Sigh.

</rant>

EDIT: Is sixth-generation console stuff still "modern", or should that live in the "retro" section? I wouldn't really class the PS2 as retro, but the site does have a list of Xbox games...

Triple post... This thread sure isn't very popular. Although, given that the site is called RetroCollect, that's not hugely surprising. :)

This fun letter arrived yesterday, which lead to this arriving today:

Nice. I opened my first edition Pier Solar (couldn't resist!), although it was only the Jap style, the PAL version was already sold out when I pre-ordered :(

Anyway, this week I've bought:

Dragon Age II Signature Edition (PC) - £24.99
Golden Sun: Dark Dawn (DS) - £19.99

I love Bioware games. I've been a fan since the first BG and they've never let me down, so I'm pretty hyped for DA2. I plan to start playing tonight :D

I was getting a bit tempted to buy a 3DS when it comes out, but realised I haven't really made that much use of my original DS. So decided I'd be better off getting a few of the games I've missed out on:

Other than Super Mario, most of these were dirt cheap, all complete and in excellent condition. Even the VIP codes are unscratched. Seems like now is a pretty good time to buy them.

That's a nice selection of DS games there. Trackmania is fab, spent many hours on that and Viewtiful Joe too is one of my favourite DS games. I'd love to know what you think of Ivy the Kiwi, it's been in my consciousness for a while but I haven't got it.

Sadly as getting new games isnt an option out here in Nam I folded today and picked up an R4 which finally gave my DS an influx of new blood 12 months after I moved here, had a good bash on Diddy Kong Racing and The World Ends With You but I'm in work early tomorrow so I've turned it off for now!
