Boxes..

Postby Videopac » Tue May 01, 2012 5:22 pm

Just had a couple of PS1 game holders turn up off fleecebay and they've been boxed in a 360 Elite box.

I find that strange as although I personally don't hold much value in them, I still keep hold of them in case I wanted to sell the console at a later date.

I was half tempted to keep the 360 elite box too but it's a little beat up and then I came to my senses.

I keep all my boxes until I sell that item.
certainly wouldn't use them to post odds and sods to other people.

Edit: sorry I quite often miss bits when im typing, I normally have to proof read things two or three times to make sure they make sense.

Aaah I almost thought that.
Well I'm with you here, I also keep boxes of everything. I still mourn the fact that I threw away my PS3 box... that was before I started getting into collecting. Even tough a PS3 with box will never fetch that much, its still somewhat sad to me  Well except the first generations with the chrome and card reader... that thing seems to demand crazy prices.

But hey, free Xbox box lol :p Better than me getting stuff shipped in kitchen appliance boxes...

I have the boxes for any consoles I bought new, or boxed. Never bin them, if I move they can go back in them and better to sell a boxed than unboxed console!

Mine are littering the loft. All nestled on wonderful fibre glass.

Same. my last house didn't have a loft that I could use which caused an issue. Had to hide them around other things in case my wife found empty boxes ... she'd probably have chucked them or turned them into cat toys...

My girlfriend says "If we get a place, you have to throw out those cardboard boxes for your game systems." I took one look at her and rolled my eyes, told her no way. She doesn't see the point in keeping the boxes.

You have to show her why you keep the boxes. Gy gf didn't understand either, then I showed her the difference between cart only and boxed games on eBay. Women (who aren't collectors) may not get the aesthetics, or the satisfaction of owning a CIB game. But everybody understands monetary value.
