Best title made by Rare?

Banjo Kazzoie was a masterpiece in my humble opinion, they squeezed so much into the cartridge it was unreal. but as a left field suggestion i would say Blast Corps is one of the most fun games i have played by Rare, really hard though.

Conker's BFD for me,so underrated.The graphics were the best on the N64,no competition.Great fun too.

Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, and R.C. Pro AM were all fantastic games. I've never been too nuts about their platformers but truth be told the 3D platformer hasn't really interested me much since SM64.

however much I love Banjo, Conker, etc., there's one title which imo stands out amongst the crowd: Cobra Triangle for the NES

I rented that game enough times to warrant at least one purchase of it

For my tuppence worth - the first game I ever purchased was Jet Pac for my brand new 16K Sinclair Spectrum in 1982 with my pocket money and the stuff that Ultimate Play the Game (who I'm sure most people know evolved into RARE).

Same this way. I started off with Jetpac on the beeb, moving on to Sabre Wulf and the isometric adventure/puzzlers on me 48k speccy. I thought they were all great and honestly couldn't pick a clear winner from knight lore, alien8 or head over heels.

Moving on, I loved Battletoads vs Double Dragon, RC Pro Am, DKC, Blast Corps and Goldeneye, Viva Pinata.

I couldn't really pick a winner as they all come from a different era representing the particular tech capabilities of a particular generation. It simply wouldnt be fair to compare jetpac to goldeneye. Out of them all though, I think I've probably spent the most time on Goldeneye so if I had to pick one...i'd guess I'd go for that.

Banjo Kazooie - Nuts & Bolts is the latest title I've heard from them
and despite it's somewhat simple nature, I like that game quite a lot... some innovative concepts there

I really like Kameo, because it looked great when it was being made for the GC, so i bought one as Resi 4 was released (which is my favorite Resi game because i suck at not shooting things in the face a lot) and then it was pushed onto the 360 which i bought on release anyway.

Long story short, Kameo was good

It's a toss up between Donkey Kong Country and Goldeneye 007 for me. Someone from their headquarters purchased one of my games from ebay just the other day! Will leave them a note with my package just to express my gratitude

I think if any under appreciates them it's Microsoft themselves! Saying that, I very much doubt the Rare of today is anything like the Rare of yesteryear. I'd imagine a lot of peeps have moved on elsewhere now.

I can't really pick a single Rare game as there are far too many note worthy ones, particularly the N64 era obviously. But I will pitch my vote for Jet Force Gemini as I don't think it's had a mention yet and definitely deserves one.

I can't pick just one! I'd have to apologise for picking stinkingly obvious titles but I'm gonna go for:

Donkey Kong Country, my favourite game in the trilogy and it has one of the top VGM OSTs of all time for me.

Banjo Kazooie. Tooie never grabbed me half as much as its predecessor which had 10 unique and gorgeous levels that were so contained and a joy to play (if I could wedge in Fungi Forest from Donkey Kong 64 I'd be a happy bunny).

Goldeneye was multiplayer bliss and I read somewhere recently that it isn't as fun as one would remember but I was out at a party recently where at the venue they'd hooked up a bunch of N64s to TVs with a bunch of stuff to play, one of them being Goldeneye which still plays incredibly well... it was nice beating everyone on it too

Blast Corps is up there for me. Solar Jetman gets my vote as it is the only game that prevents me from ever parting with my NES.

They have so many games, but I love Saberwulf, Goldeneye and Donkey Kong 64 the most.

Rare has so many great games on SNES and N64, it's really hard to choose...

Donkey Kong Country and Banjo-Kazooie get my nostalgia vote, but I think their best game is Perfect Dark. I didn't get to play it until a few years ago (missed out on it back in the N64's heyday) and it's absolutely amazing. Much better than Goldeneye.

Blast Corps and Solar Jetman for me. And to people saying where are hey, Viva Piñata and Trouble in Paradise, plus Banjo Nuts and Bolts I think they did? For anyone who's played those games, three games in a generation of consoles when you put in the dedication and love on a project the do isn't bad. Four if you count the truly godawful Perfect Dark Zero, I wonder how that'd turn out now we're nearing the end of the current gen rather than at the beginning when the were getting used to the platform

If we count the early days then I would have to say KnightLore, because it pushed gaming to the next level (and it was a huge leap). I would put this game in my all time top 5 games of ever because of what it did to the games undustry and for that WOW moment when you first saw it.

In more modern times I would say Conkers Bad Fur Day on both N64 and the brilliant update on Xbox plus I also really liked Kameo which I thought was the best launch title on 360.

I'm playing Kameo right now, and I have to say I like it.
It was originally planned as a Gamecube game, but when Microsoft bought Rare they made it for the Xbox. Because it was already late in Xbox' life, Kamao got finally released on the 360.

I would have to agree with most of the other posts regarding great Rare games, but am surprised by the lack of love for the killer instinct series, which could do with some sort of re-boot or at least a re- release on xbox live or PSN. It would make a great online fighter. UUULLTTRAA COMMBBOOOO!!!

Rare were bought by Microsoft years ago, made a couple of games for the Xbox, and now they've been firmly placed on Kinect duty. Kinect Sports is one of theirs. Also, it's not well known that Rare were responsible for the development of the avatars used by the Xbox 360.

The Stamper brothers are long-gone though. It's rare that they produce anything noteworthy anymore.
