Lovely stuff. Sorry if I've asked this before, but can you read japanese? Or do you collect purely because the artwork on these games are amazing, and the unusual game ideas that never get released outside the UK? :)

My latest acquisitions; the recently released point-and-click adventure title Captain Morgane and the Golden Turtle as well as New Super Mario Bros.

The DS is brilliant for point-and-click. I hope we get a few more before the system is put to bed.

Nice pickups! Let me know how Captain Morgane plays. I used to love Day of the Tentacle and Broken Sword games. Like you said the DS is perfect for these types of games.

I also found Theme Park a bit easier to play on the DS.

Yup i can read Japanese, well i can read enough where i don't get too stuck. Still some games that are way beyond my reading level such as phoenix wright so i was pretty pleased those have english in them. The artwork is a big reason why i love imports but also theres just so many games that never leave Japan, theres also a lot of limited editions too which makes import collecting a lot of fun.

After the great game trade in offers, I've trimmed my wii collection back to about 200 again. I'm quite proud with the collection and I'm only missing One PIece (the first one) from my wants list - I'm holding out for a cheapish UK one.

Anyways, since I don't really need any more wii games, I've decided to join the party late and start off a DS collection.

I used to have a decent DS collection of over 100 games, but one by one I ended trading them in at CEX once I discovered the R4. So, I've decided to build it up again (this threads been great!)

Very soon anyone should easily be able to identify 100 rubbish games in my collection!

I have the first one, only looking for a cheap copy of the second UK version :P

Having not tracked the price of DS games for some years now, I'm quite surprised at not only the premiums that some games are fetching, but also the scarcity of them. Last time I went ds hunting, though pricier than the average DS games, there were frequently multiple listings on offer for Suikoden and/or Fire Emblem. Currently, there are none in the UK. Luckily, I held on to my Tiekreis from before and managed to win a Fire Emblem earlier this week - albeit for a £30 premium.

Even the likes of The World Ends With You is rare. Again, no UK copies available on UK ebay currently. Luckily, one popped up the other day on a £9.99 BIN so I snagged it.

I have to say, that I am enjoying this hunt though!

anyone know if Aussie DS games have a thicker white case (like Euro) or the darker thinner case (like US)?

if it is Chibi-Robo: Park Patrol it was released in EU as far as i know, Starfy i have only seen US and AUS version of so far, so not sure about that, but i guess hydr0x is more updated on DS games then the most of us :P

*edit* just read that Chibi-Robo was cancelled in the EU, so only US, AUS and JPN release on that

Uhm, no, they don't, they have the thinner black/grey cases. Chibi-Robo and Starfy are indeed Australian exclusives within "PAL-Land", as is Crystal Mines which I'm still tempted to grab. Got the other two in the collection.

When it comes to DS collecting there's no way around US cases anyways as there are, depending on your tastes, a few dozen must-have or very interesting US-only releases.

You're right, I meant 'thinner.' This is why I shouldn't post in the middle of classes.

Thought I'd put up some pics of what I've amassed so far - bearing in mind I only started in February!

Thanks - most of the good stuff came courtesy of Gamestation's ludicrously generous trade-ins a month or so back.
