They have not been discussed here as far as I am aware. Personally, I think these are fantastic additions to any DC librarry, but I wanted to gauge others opinions?

Did you end up getting them, whats it like to play MGS on the Dreamcast? I'm considering gettin this one myself to relive that awsome game :)

They are nice to have but I'd never use them. The PS1 controller is superior, the emulation with it's supposed enhancements just messes with the original game, and most of these have been superseded by better remakes or sequels, like Twin Snakes on the cube.

Ah, ya see, I quite like the Bleemcast MGS.

I think the graphics were fairly significantly improved. Agreed, not quite up to the Twin Snakes standard but.....now I don't want to be shot for this.....but.....I'm not keen on MGS2. Parking the Raiden 'thing' to one side, the moving bodies and hiding them thing plus other features don't work for me. A lot of these features were brought in to Twin Snakes and unfortunately, for me (and I am keen to point out that I'm probably on my own on this one), killed the original MGS experience for me a bit.

Hence, I quite liked the Bleemcast version.

I sure wouldn't mind the Bleemcast discs just from a collecting POV but really the graphic enhancement isn't really anything to do with the bleemcast disc itself from what I can tell it's just the DC's anti-aliasing chip doing it's job XD

Thanks for the advice on the Bleemcast MGS guys, if it is just the DC's anti-aliasing chip doing the work would you say that playing the original MGS in a PS2 would do the same thing, which system would produce the superior graphics? Is the MGS Bleemcast disk multi-region i.e there's no PAL or NTSC variants of the Bleem disks are there? I never really got into MGS2 on the PS2 as much as the original on PS1, so if the Twin Snakes version plays more like MGS2 then i'm still considering getting this Bleemcast MGS. Cheers.

I found a great wee retro store on friday thanks to a friend telling me about it. It's called The Game Shop, based in Dingwall and had tons of retro games there for cheap as chips prices. Got a slew of Dreamcast games there (including Giant Killers, but missing manual, European Super League, Magforce and Kiss) for £3 each! Had a very healthy selection of PS2, Xbox, Megadrive, N64, Sega Saturn and PS1 games as well, along with bits and bobs from a few other consoles like the SNES, Mega CD and Game Boys. I'll have to make a pilgrimage there again soon! :)

Hey happy to help haha! I only learned about it last week when a friend was searching for accomodation there since she's studying at HTC in September. She rubbed in my face the copies of Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 she got there! Apparently the guy used to be based in Elgin and knew the man who ran Console Exchange (or was it Electronic Exchange) in Inverness. He's got a good selection of stock though and I wouldn't be surprised if he could source some games too :)

Plays well, looks lovely, I actually like the Dreamcast's D-Pad better than the PS1s. Of course it's not much use these days as others have pointed out, since you'd be better off with one of the MGS remakes.

It's not perfect though, there's the occasional sound glitch.

When I first played it on PS1 I thought the woman in the training missions said "Impressive Steve"

DC games for £3?, thats sweet - i have considered collecting all PAL DC games and started some years back with The Street Fighter III games and Gunbird 2 but i also recently purchased Quake III,Sega Rally 2 and 18 Wheeler. An Ex-girlfriend borrowed my original Shenmue I/II around 10 years ago and to be honest i would rather find where she lives and ask her if she still has them as i have no wish to pay current prices for them both again lol.

Dude! Where did you find these? I've been looking everywhere for a nice Dreamcast shirt but haven't found anything.
Currently working on Nintendo 64. SNES collection includes US-only Square-Enix titles.
