LAKERS VS CELTIC ON EBAY

Postby UltraMagnus » Sun Aug 04, 2013 7:44 pm

If anyone is interested.

I had a little look at the auction anjd scrolled down to the Q&A part and someone was trying to get him to send him hi res scans of the cover.

Wonder why he wants that :x

respect for the seller saying that he is not prepared to do that for any offer.

Interesting....it has no manual (that I can see), and not in the best nick. But seems legit. More legit than the other one just put on eBay...

That is how the Darxide fakes started. Just pray a scammer does not buy this as the market would be flooded with them.

The only plus is that they would not be able to fake the manual.

I should charge image rights for my pictre being used in that auction! :D

Yeah I thought I recognized that copy, although he hasn't been active on here in months.

Not bidding on it but will be interesting to see what it goes for with no manual and damaged inlay.

How is this game only Very Rare, not Extremely Rare, on the rarity guide?

Interesting to see a new cart only copy of the game listed today where the seller has described the game as the "holy grail" and "Very Rare". They haven't quite grasped the fact that the cartridge on its own is as common as any other Electronic Arts Mega Drive release because the cart is EXACTLY the same as the common USA release, it is the PAL packaging which is extremely rare.

Like everyone else, I am watching the PAL boxed auction with much interest ;)

Makes you wonder whether a few boxed with manual ones will come out of the woodwork when this one is sold.

i wonder if owners of this game(not the one on Ebay but people who have it in a collection at home) wil bid on that one to protect there own interests as it were. Id be tempted if im honest after reading what some people have paid for this game. If it ended up going for under 200 it would be a big blow to some people!

It is damaged and incomplete though. So the sale price will be nothing like a mint CIB.

Aye but if it is the true holy grail of Megadrive collecting, one appearing in any state will at least give some indication of price. Its not like most "rare" games where a rough price can be sussed out from the one that appears online every other month or so.
Totally accept that it wont be as much as a complete one though. Interesting gauge of what the rarest of the rare is worth imo.

Fixed that for you 8-)

If I needed this game I would not bid as I am a CIB collector. I know many other collectors who feel the same.

Ah, i didnt realise you owned a copy.
Im not here to put you down or undermind what you paid so i will bow out of this debate. I wasnt aiming what i said at anyone, just curious to see what a game ive only ever heard about but never seen would make.

only £107...I doubt a real copy of 32x darxide, primal rage or t-mek with a damaged boxed would be sold for only 107
Probably because the game itself isn't rare at all, and those 32x games are rare as hell even as cart only

You mean bid it up to 'maintain' the title's value? People actually do stuff like that? Each to their own but I really can't see the point. Collectors aren't looking to sell after all so it shouldn't matter how much something they own is worth monetary-wise.
