i have a question about Girl Zone, i have seen 2 different covers, and wondering if it's the same game or what the difference is
this:
http://viewitem.eim.ebay.no/GIRL-ZONE-f ... 23571/item

and this:
http://viewitem.eim.ebay.no/GIRL-ZONE-N ... 67828/item

have gotten the first one sealed now, so wondering if i should get that second one also as i see the both are from Phoenix

Could be but I really don't know, might be re-releases, who knows.

I honestly don't think I have the patience (let alone the space) for a full set, I mean this isn't like collecting for the megadrive for example where there is just 500 titles. Ps2 has over 2000! games in it's library, and there is a lot of crap for it too.

I'd hazard I saw 40,000 games last summer, most at £1-2 and not selling. Of the ~400 I picked up I only paid over 50p a handful of times. I only bought titles I knew were classics, rarities, or 505/Midas/Phoenix etc that I'd not seen a bunch of times already. The fact that people weren't buying these games will probably mean reductions in expectations this summer; when the PS4 and next Xbox launch there will still be a lot of PS2 games out there, devalued as much as PS1 games are at boosters at the moment., but even harder for people to sell because of the sheer number of them out there.

My biggest problem so far has been picking up multiples as I forget what I've already bought.

really?: Cheers mate! I will start to do Car Boots then too. So far just done the local computer shops, then charity shops.

However, until I recieve my job lots that I just bought from Ebay (about 46 games or so in total), I dont know what I will have either! Already got 2 duplicates......so easy to forget.

Cheers for the info!

A couple of months on, and the proliferation of <£2 xbox 360 games locally has meant that the ps2 games i'm picking up-what id term the 'future £10 titles' such as FF, Resident Evil, etc are going for 50p a shot up here. and nobody else is buying. Me, i'm probably at 800 games I reckon, all the classic titles and rubbish labels. Prob gonna top out at 1200 games or something, I have no desire to buy some of the £100 games or any of the sports ones! Definitely a brilliant time to be picking up blue boxes though, theyll never be cheaper.

got the Girl Zone variants i talked about now
Image
only difference on them are the front cover, SLES code and bar code is the same on both, and backside is the same on both, copyright year is the same, both are made in Austria, one have Playstation seal and the other looks like reseal, won't open the one with the Playstation seal, so not sure if the manual and disc are the same

but does anyone know why there are 2 different cover variants and they have the same SLES number?

if they where country variants they would have different SLES numbers in my opinion like Need for Speed Most Wanted (Norwegian have SLES 53557, Swedish have SLES 53558)

Don't counry variants only have new numbers if the actual disc is different?

Not quite, but its the closest you'll get. Pretty much all the games are there, bar compilations. Otherwise its your best reference.

Not quite? It is complete as far as GAMES go. Or well, it was complete until they released PES/FIFA 12 but those will be added in the next update :)

Excuse my ignorance as I am not a huge PS2 collector, I only buy the games I played as a kid, but what is the deal with 505 games? I see them discussed on here a lot. I got one in a joblot the other day and its flipping awful. Where they a limited run or something?

Some are pure drivel, but you do get the odd totally mental gem in there.

They're just PAL versions of the incredibly popular Simple 2000 Series games.

Which one did you get?

Pink Pong. It's terrible. If anyone wants it I'd be glad to get it off my shelf.
