Not owning an Android phone (yet), can I ask a question. While I understand a dedicated App would be better, shouldn't it be possible to check your collection via the normal browser?

Well that is quite a pricey alternative but no thats not all i want it for i was just giving an example of the praticality of such an app. I'd rather something more directly linked to Retro collect itself.

It is indeed, you can browse full web pages on an android, or even an iphone all the same (assuming theres no flash on RC for iphone's sake), however browsers are slow when using a mobile connection and can be fiddly since webpages arnt utilised for tiny screens and fingers scrolling about. The point of an app would be to utilise the data to be accessable and easily nativated without having to download large files or images.

Thanks, so it's roughly as I thought. Well, I'll join the Android user-crowd soon enough (phone's on its way) so I'll be able to test this finally

I'm not too worried about an actual app for the iPad/iPhone it's just the not being able to post pics without sending them to myself via email then going through the computer to upload them

Don't think I'm gonna be too popular for suggesting this but....

You should charge for the app. I don't think many people would complain about paying 69p - £1 for what is in effect the most comprehensive and accurate database out there.

People are charging that sort of money for separate collector lists alone. There are various things like Gamegear lists, Megadrive lists, Lynx lists etc already for sale. I guess it'd help towards costs for hosting etc.

...just a thought......
