Favourite Films/New Films That Are Worth Watching

Postby Punisher » Wed Apr 06, 2016 10:23 am

Hi everyone,

I am a bit of a film buff, and have watched many decent films in my time.

My favourite titles have to be:-

Dumb and Dumber.
Shawshank Redemption.
Django Unchained.
Goodfellas.
Indiana Jones Series.
The Green Mile.
Inglorious Bastards.
Scarface.
Wolf of Wall Street.

You get the Picture (literally).

I watched Deadpool the other day which was really good. The Revenant was good on par with Mad Max: Fury Road.

Anyone else have any films that are a MUST SEE?.

I love Tarantino films, crappy horror/slasher films, Schwarzenneger movies to name a few.

Used to really enjoy superhero films too but recently I've just had enough of them being everywhere and shoved in our faces. Undoubtedly the quality has never been higher or more consistent but I'm just bored with them. Especially when they take series' I've really enjoyed e.g. The Amazing Spiderman (where is our hinted Sinister 6 sequel?) and Batman/Dark Knight and reboot them all over again then I lose interest.

My top three of all-time (to keep it simple) would have to be:

Kill Bill Vol.1
Terminator 2: Judgement Day
Heat
(the Al Pacino/ Robert Deniro film, not the rubbish recent-ish film of the same name)

My favourite film is In Bruges. I've subsequently been to Bruges half a dozens times - it unwittingly did a lot for tourism. Very dark, very funny (the film, not the location).

Forbidden Planet (1956) - Worth it just to see a really young Leslie Neilson and a totally electronic sound track.
Snowpiercer (2013)
True Legend (2010) - Jet Li drunken boxing

Any Hammer Horror film with Christopher Lee especially Rasputin.

I'm a huge fan of the mob movies, such as Goodfellos and Casino. Heat is also one I love.

My favorite film of all the time is "Gladiator". Perfect play of Russell Crow and Joaquin Phoenix. A great story, where everything is.

Of the new films that you need to see is 'Dunkirk'. I already want go to the cinema and read reviews about the film, and just knowing that Nolan doesn't make bad films, even more interest in the film.
