Favourite Beer

Erdinger Weissbier is mine, it's a tasty beer that can be found fairly cheaply in most supermarkets and gastro pubs. I love the stuff.

What's yours? And if you don't like beer, what do you prefer to drink?

Well, since I'm under 21, which is the legal drinking age in the states, I've never had a sip of alcohol in my life... Wellll, I'm lying. I've had champagne - and I liked it! A lot. But that was only once a few years ago... It was like Gingerale with an extra, smoky kick. At least that's the best I can describe it.

I'm a huge Dr. Pepper drinker. Actually, on an unhealthy level, about six a day. I'm gonna stop drinking them for at least 40 days when I start working out at the free gym at my college in order to counteract the effects of a lazy summer. :?

Mmm, on a night out my usual drink of choice would just be Vodka and Coke. Mainly because at the start of uni life I couldn't handle my drinks all to well! Usually before I head out I also drink a few Strongbows with a couple of folk. And later on I always seem to get my hands on a Glitterbomb. It's basically Red Bull and Goldschlager. The little flakes of gold in the Goldschlager makes little cuts in your throat so the alcohol gets into your blood quicker  Ohh the fun.

Another thing, My boyfriend and I still havent had a flatwarming, so we were thinking that when we do, we'd put aside like £100 for alcohol and try out some mof the video game related drinks on the Drunken Moogle. They are so epic, and since pretty much all our friends are geeks/gamers, I could see it going down well. Maybe not for the state of the flat, but it would be fun :D

If I had answered this a year ago my answer would have been much shorter :3

All,
I run a Wine shop in Berkshire and I am currently doing a monthly guest ale.

This is where you come in. Tell me what your favourite Craft beers are! Looking for new exciting beers to stock!

Only rule is it must not be available in the supermarket.

Thanks!

Very nice beer.

Aside from that, I like La Trappe Quadrupel. Lovely taste.

The latter is available through Dutch convenience stores though... Dunno for you guys in the UK.

I am more of a Whiskey guy though...

Newcastle Brown Ale, the taste became a little more bitter when they shifted the brewery from Newcastle but it's still a fine beer to have a sunday dinner with. Brahma is also a nice Brazilian larger, goes well with spicy food.

Whiskey wise once you go single malt you'll never go back. Highland Park 18 Years is the nicest whiskey I've ever drank and at £70 a bottle it's far nicer than pricier singles such as the older Gledfiddich. I'd love to try the 40 year old Highland Park but at £1800 a bottle it's too expensive...

English Heritage also do a fine selection of Meads and Sloe Gin, I could drink the Heritage Mead all day, it's just so mellow.

Yeah... Usually I don't buy anything older than 15 years. Too rich for my taste.... Pun intended... :D

Old Engine Oil is my favourite beer, fricking difficult too get anywhere though so most times I have to settle for something else. Kozel is quite good too, its taste is quite sweet and mellow. 10 years ago I liked Circle Master, but I have not seen it in stores in a long time.

In terms of whisky, I like Laphroaig. One whisky that I have tried only once but would love to have again (because it was quite good) is Smokehead, I just haven't seen it anywhere after that one time I ordered it on a bar a few years ago. Out of "non-whisky whiskey" I am known to occasionally having bourbon whiskey, and when I do it's Jack Daniels because it's sweet and does not taste like it tries to be a proper whisky but is content on being something else that just shares the name.
