Random Niceness - Stuff for Free Thread

Postby mainvein » Wed Feb 01, 2012 10:23 pm

Just realised today that there is no things for free thread like on the RG forum, so i thought i would start one up here too. Its working nicely over on that forum so same rules apply:

if you have anything that you want to just give away for free, including free postage (only exceptions really if its a heavy item or overseas then a contribution could be asked towards postage) then list them here.

If you take something for free then its only fair to list something that you will give away for free too to make up for it. Saves landfill and you'll find that if you have a spare case, instructions, carts then you will no doubt help someone elses collection be more complete :D (also doesnt have to be just gaming items)

-------------------------------------
To begin with i have as i know there are wrestling/comic/hk film/magazine collectors on here too:

wii sports and resort instruction manuals

a bunch of vhs promo inlays for hk films:

hah! Nice, I wouldn't mind the bizzare 1st issue actually. I usd to read it back in the day.

Not sure what I have yet, but I'm sure there's something. My parents dumped a load of my old stuff on me recently, and I haven't sorted it all out yet!

Some random bits from the first of my tidy-ups

X Files manual only - (Ps1)
Sega Rally 2 (DC) - Manual only - nice and clean
Visual Memory (DC) - Manual only - front cover a little creased , small fold on corner of last 2 pages
Tomb Raider Chronicles (Premier Collection re-issue PC CD ROM) - Complete - disc 1 a little marked / scratched
Lord of the Rings - Fellowship (PS2) - Disc only - a bit marked
This is Football 2005 (PS2) - Disc and manual only - disc lightly marked + manual folded in half

TAKEN - A GBA game I cant get working

Game and watch gallery (GBA) - seems to have a save fault - label a bit faded in middle

genuine cartridge with numbers on cart label - maybe someone can make it work again? - TAKEN

apologies for the mahoosive pic - cant seem to resize any way i try.

@Shifty: I'd be happy to give that Game and Watch GBA cart a new home! I don't have too much to offer atm, but will get some in next time I'm on the trawl :)

Well its not my type of game tbh. (Don't tell anyone, but i don't really like SSBM, either....shhhh!!) I don't think its a Super Smash Bros Melee beater, but my kids seemed to enjoy it for a while!

I'm around 50 odd short of a full set but things are slowing down as games are getting hard to find in the wild and i'm saving my paypal money for a 'special' item :D 8-)

You say you have it 3 times? Maaan - 1 is bad enough.

Sadly it is one of those titles that I dont own and at some point may have to relent on if i want a complete set. Not sure I want complete if it includes Fifa/NHL/Nfl etc.

I have 4 Acorn Electron games and the power cable.

The games are;
Arcadians
Business Games
Sphinx Adventure
Boxer

Depending on what you want i may need a little help on the postage as it will be sort of bulky and heavy if someone takes everything, and i am a impoverished uni student =D.

Thank you so much, Shifty - your package dropped through my door the other day! ^_^

Weird. First it was a read error 0 - then after the next try it seems to work ok. Then I scroll through 10000000 screens accessing all these games and end up with garbled graphics. Looks like it may be a bootleg, judging from the poor English on that warning screen and the lack of a Nintendo Seal of Approval image on the label.. dunno!

Anyway, thanks again! It was really kind of you ;)

-------------------------------------

In return, I have found some stuff that I can give away:

Xbox:
Doom 3 - comes in the collectors tin, but is the regular version. inc. manual, no outer slip case.
Ford Mustang - complete, medium wear throughout.

MD:
Puggsy (PAL) Cart is in good condition, but the box needs replacing - inlay is good condition. Manual has been written on and is WELL loved, lol, lots of pass codes on there.

DC:
Dream On Volume 16 - front of the case has some small cracks, disc and inlay are mint.

PC:
Etherlords

*will add some pics and more bits in a while*

Feel free to shoot me a PM if you're interested!

Ok, I have a couple of things I don't need. Got a couple of pirate games with an SP that I don't want but wouldn't feel right selling on eBay. Both unboxed.

Crazy frog racing - ZOMG! (honestly who would bother pirating this?)
Marvel Ultimate Alliance - unfortunately this glitches fatally shortly into the game. Maybe you can do something with it?

PM me if you want these undoubted treasures.

Both snapped up by Liana C :)

Not sure its a bootleg - does it have 2 digits stamped into the label? Every official release (on GB / GBC and GBA) has a number etched / stamped on the label . im sure it did. Think its a problem with the rom chip maybe.Worked when i bought it so it either has a battery leak or a problem with the main chip on it.

Yep, you're right, it does have the digits - still cool for the collection tho! :) Might pick up some tools soon and have a look

Will post up photos tomorrow as condition varies but its free if you need for your collection (not if you intend to resell with a boxed game  ).

Super Mario 64 instruction manual (PAL).

Perfect Dark 64 instruction manual (PAL)

Blast Corps 64 [or] Body Harvest 64 instruction manual (JPN) - can't remember which game it is now but I know its in Japanese. Will confirm tomorrow.

4 x Various N64 tips books. Came free with magazines years ago. No shame in admitting you need tips or help, but feel free to PM if you want these
