ZX Spectrum 'Slightly Magic' Legacy Edition Gets Release Date

Slightly-Magic-Legacy-Edition-Release-DateLate last year the developer behind the ZX Spectrum platformer Slightly Magic decided it was time to revive the 1991 platformer with a respectable remake. Colin Jones launched a Kickstarter to help fund the project, but fell a good 75% off the funding target. Despite this, Jones has pressed on and announced a release date for Slightly Magic 8-Bit Legacy Edition.

The aim Jones had with the remake of Slightly Magic was to not re-do the entire game and modernise it, but to adapt it to newer platforms and resolve some of the issues the ZX Spectrum platform presented - such as the colour clash. Although the very thought of a classic game being re-released was exactly how we'd like it, the failed Kickstarter came as a surprise to most retro gamers.

As of today though, Jones has confirmed that the remake of Slightly Magic will be released on iOS, Android, PC, Mac and OUYA on the 7th July. So if you're wanting a bit more nostalgia on the go, keep the date in your diaries.
