ZX Spectrum Remake Of Sega's Out Run In Development

ZX-Spectrum-Remake-Of-Sega-Out-Run-In-DevelopmentAs far as arcade ports on classic computers go, few have managed to capture the coin-op experience at home. Fully aware of this, one homebrew developer has decided to begin development on his very own version of Out Run for the ZX Spectrum - picking up where US Gold's original port left off.

While US Gold's version of Sega's arcade racer wasn't terrible, the lack of colour and difference from the original coin-op left a lot to be desired.

Toni Galvez's re-imagining of Out Run is hoping to deliver full-colour graphics, a more accurate and fast frame rate using unmasked graphics - while offering much more detail than you'd expect from the ZX Spectrum.

Although this remake is yet to be released, its trailer is showing great promise for those hoping to enjoy a timeless racer on aged hardware.
