Yolkfolk.com DizzyAGE 2013 Competition Brings Us More Eggtastic Adventures Starring Codemaster's Dizzy

DizzyAGE-2013Unfortunately for retro gamers, our prolific 80s hero Dizzy has been somewhat dormant for several decades - despite many attempts to roll him back onto his feet. Fans of the series, however, have managed to pick up where Codemasters left off and Blitz Games have been unable to, and have since produced a yearly supply of new eggventures. A batch of these homebrew efforts have just arrived thanks to Yolkfolk.com's annual DizzyAGE competition, all of which can now be downloaded.

For many of us, the fact Blitz Games' attempt to revive Dizzy via Kickstarter failed was a sorry sign of the times. This once key-figure of the home computer and early console market which spanned over 15 unique titles (along with many compilations and adaptations), is today unable to entice funding from around the world to be modernised. While many will argue this was due to the absurd funding request from above, we're still left with a huge gap in our gaming world today - an egg-shaped one to be precise.

Luckily enough for us, the unofficial side of things has us covered.

In the recent DizzyAge Easter Competition 2013, five new titles have arrived and all of which seem to capture the charm of the originals. The title which happened to win the competition this year was the impressive PC release Dizzy and The Ring of Zaks - a title put together by a team of 12 die-hard fans and one that would make the Oliver Twins proud. Sporting some lush visuals, a memorable soundtrack and well-structured storyline, Dizzy and The Ring of Zaks is most definitely a title any Dizzy gamer should invest their spare time in.

Elsewhere around the competition, the likes of Dizzy - Night at the Musuem and Dizzy Vs. The Snow Queen had plenty to offer too, further proving that there is more than enough life in this unhatched hero.
