While we all knew NBA Jam had a bit of an edge to it, nobody really knew how much of a impact it was initially intended to make. A NBA Jam prototype has been released online - one which features a vast array of swearing and x-rated announcements that never made the cut. Our retro gaming jaws have dropped!
Although games today have no problem cursing, the inclusion of swearing and vulgar language in games is something of a rarity in the past. You'll be hard pressed to find a title from the 90s which features 18+ language in-game. While it's hard to determine which game was the first to feature such language, it has since become a common addition to modern games.
This copy of NBA Jam in particular is quite something. "No F*cking Way!" shouts the commentator as our secret character Bill Clinton dunks the ball. Amazed? Well this is just the tip of the iceberg. With plenty more obscenities on offer, this version of the iconic basketball title will have you in stitches in no time. Don't believe us? Take a look yourself in this gameplay video.
