Unreleased Sega Mega Drive Port Of ‘Bill’s Tomato Game’ ROM Released

Bills-Tomato-Gamer-Mega-Drive-Genesis-Prototype-ROMNot too long ago the new owners of a well travelled Bill’s Tomato Game prototype cartridge announced they’d be releasing a reproduction run for the Mega Drive. After selling all 100 copies that had been made, it was suggested that a ROM of the unreleased title would be made available to download - something which has just happened.

This port of the Commodore Amiga puzzler was due to be released on Sega’s 16-bit in the nineties, only to find itself scrapped alongside the likes of It Came From The Desert, Stone Protectors and Putty Squad. What makes this Bill’s Tomato Game prototype rather notable is that the code on the game’s cartridge is complete. It would appear that this very version is indeed what was planned to hit the shop shelves before it was cancelled.

Like many other recent ROM releases, the community-favourite Nolan brothers have delivered on their promise to allow the masses to experience another thought-to-be-lost title. Capable of running on the original hardware using a Everdrive MD or Mega Everdrive, fans of both the Mega Drive and Amiga can finally compare versions to see who comes out on top.

The Bill’s Tomato Game Sega Mega Drive ROM file has been released online over at the NintendoAge forums.
