Unreleased Sega Dreamcast Launch Title 'Geist Force' Leaked Online

Unreleased-Sega-Dreamcast-Launch-Title-Geist-Force-Leaked-Online-For-DownloadThe moment Sega Dreamcast fans have been waiting for is here. The highly anticipated, yet never released Starfox inspired shooter Geist Force has landed in a downloadable form - thanks to the combined efforts of the retro gaming community.

The forum devoted to obscure retro gaming and unreleased games, AssemblerGames, previously ran a fundraiser to ensure Geist Force would be placed into the right hands and preserved for all to enjoy. The existence of the game was originally (and surprisingly) brought to their attention when an ex-Sega employee appeared out of nowhere and began discussing his eventful past with them, Geist Force included.

Thankfully their efforts to preserve this part of the Sega Dreamcast's history were hugely successful. Standing proud, the community honoured those who donated to the fundraiser by creating a professional looking reproduction copy of the game for their collections.

Fast forward to today, all these generous donators have since received their copy of the game, leaving the community to follow through on the second part of their original plan - release a downloadable ISO of Geist Force to the internet. Simply head on over to their release thread and get your hands on Geist Force.

Should you need a reminder about what's on offer here, take another glance over this gameplay video to see what Sega left behind.

I was one of the people who donated and I got a copy, sadly though it is nice to own, the game is basically unplayable in most situations, you need a lot of patience and don't expect to get very far in it, it just doesn't play too well in general. Still nice to have in my collection
