Unreleased Sega Dreamcast ‘Colin McRae Rally 2.0’ Port Discovered

Colin-McRae-Rally-2-DreamcastAs we all know too well Sega’s swan song was brought to an abrupt end before it got to show off its full potential. Following the Dreamcast's discontinuation, large number of games in development were halted and many cancelled, however, yet again we’re seeing for the first time another previously lost title in action - Colin McRae Rally 2.0.

This all new reveal comes from RetroCollect’s very own Tomleecee, a dedicated Dreamcast fan who recently traveled across the country to meet an anonymous source holding several unreleased Dreamcast titles. Documenting this find on the Dreamcast Junkyard, this unreleased port of Colin McRae Rally 2.0 is anything but complete, offering only a single track to play, something which is also limited by needing a specific VMU save file to boot too.

As it stands the source holding ColinMcRae Rally 2 and several other lost titles isn’t prepared to release them online, however, the Dreamcast Junkyard is hoping to reveal the others over the coming weeks.

Very interesting. I really hope it (and that VMU "booter") gets dumped and do not get lost to time. I recall seeing this in a few game mags at the time and I was under the impression the game was further along. Maybe this guy just has an earlier build only. Would love to see all those cancelled games emerge such as Black & White and others.

It would be cool if the people involved with this game's development would pick it up and finish it. Or at least allow someone else to finish it.
