Unreleased PAL Nintendo 64 Adventure 'Indiana Jones & The Infernal Machine' ROM Released

Indiana-Jones-and-the-Infernal-Machine-PAL-Nintendo-64-ROMAs a PAL gamer, one of the most frustrating aspects of growing up was seeing countless future classics in magazine previews skip out on European releases. One of these in particular was LucasArts' Tomb Raider inspired adventure for the Nintendo 64, Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine - a title which has finally been located and preserved online.

While we did happen to miss out on playing this title due to various delays and an eventual cancellation, Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine actually saw release in North America. Having said that, even there it was somewhat of a rarity due to it being a Blockbuster exclusive - a title now worth a pretty penny if complete. PAL gamers, however, weren't entirely out of luck as the game also made its way onto the PC.

Recently a prototype Nintendo 64 cartridge containing the PAL version of Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine made its way onto eBay, selling for a massive $710. Luckily enough for us though, the new owner of this cartridge was kind enough to reach out to one of the Nintendo 64 scene groups with the aim of sharing this long lost PAL release with the community.

Although the PAL version may not offer too many differences from its US counterpart, it's nice to know that yet another piece of unpreserved gaming history has been archived.

This is great news, when I saw that cartridge on the eBay auction I could not believe it. It amazing that some 13 years after the console was pronounced dead there're still gems cropping up from time to time.

This will be intresting to play one day. Another of the 'lost' gems from the N64 dark days.
