Unreleased Nintendo 64 Wildwaters Extreme Kayak ROM Leaked Online

Unreleased-Nintendo-64-Wildwaters-Extreme-Kayak-ROM-Leaked-OnlineIn 1999 a kayaking game was in development for the Nintendo 64 by Looking Glass Studios, developers more commonly known for their PC game series- Thief and System Shock. Following their closure in 2000 the half finished title Wildwaters Extreme Kayak for the N64 disappeared along with the ten impressive years the studio had built up.

Not all hope is lost for Wildwaters Extreme Kayak though. ROM release group Team Carrot, who previously provided a ROM of the unreleased Glover 2 for the Nintendo 64 late last year, have returned by preserving and providing the retro gaming world with a build of Looking Glass Studios' unfinished game.

Wildwaters Extreme Kayak is pretty much what you'd expect it to be, an action packed rapid racer flowing down winding rivers, however, its worth noting that it really is quite the unfinished game. Only the first level of the game can be played and once you reach the end of the race, your kayak will fall out of bounds.

Whilst we're lucky to finally be able to experience this unfinished game, there was another Nintendo 64 game in development at the same time as Wildwaters Extreme Kayak known as Mini Racers, which is still nowhere to be seen.

A ROM of Wildwaters Extreme Kayak can now be downloaded from various sources and enjoyed in a Nintendo 64 emulator or on the likes of the 64drive and Everdrive 64 N64 flash cards.

Nice. That everdrive is becoming increasingly more attractive as a purchase

Agreed! I have the much dated Bung Z64 hardware in my Nintendo 64, but the Everdrive keeps becoming much more appealing to me.
