While many Dizzy fans will tell you that the missing in action adventure known as Wonderland Dizzy is their most wanted unreleased title, the news of another unreleased Codemasters game surfacing will come as a nice surprise. Dreamworld Pogie, originally planned for the Nintendo NES and Sega Game Gear has finally arrived online.
A few days ago Yolkfolk.com, the leading Dizzy fan resource posted up a celebration of Dizzy's 25th Anniversary with a huge collection of unusual Dizzy material to download. One of the items amongst was 'Dreamworld Pogie - NES source code' with the following plea attached:
"Any NES technical experts now have the chance to download the source code for a Pogie game which never got released"
Needless to say it only took a day before someone more familiar with code was able to compile what was left and build a working Nintendo NES ROM of Dreamworld Pogie. Although the game remains somewhat unfinished, it's a real pleasure seeing more of Codemasters early history surfacing online. All the remains now is the Sega Game Gear version of Dreamworld Pogie which was supposed to be on the Excellent Dizzy Collection.
