Unreleased Atari Lynx game Hot Dog set for Reproduction run

Hot-Dog-Atari-Lynx-Unreleased-ReproductionAnother forgotten title from the vaults of unreleased classics is fast approaching. The M.I.A. game; Hot Dog is getting a reproduction run of 75 cartridges for the Atari Lynx enthusiasts the enjoy.

In what could have been a new mascot for the fabled handheld, Hot Dog is the Atari Lynx's answer to Sonic The Hedgehog. Unfortunately there is very little information regarding this title online, but the release thread for this reproduction cartridge solves a few questions of this mystery title.

According to the thread, Hot Dog was in development between 1993 and 1995, shortly before the Atari Lynx was abandoned and the programmers focus was shifted towards the Atari Jaguar. The version of the game used for this reproduction was labeled up as a review demo featuring 8 levels, bonus levels and an end of level boss for demonstration purposes.

From what the video shows, this could have easily been a hit for the Atari Lynx. A bright visual palette and engaging platform action, exactly what the handheld had been crying out for. As of speaking, the reproduction releasers are set to create 75 custom cartridges to be sold at $35 each. Should this interest you, we recommend you go voice your interest over at the official thread.
