Unofficial Remake Of 'Rock 'N' Roll Racing' In Development

Unofficial-Remake-Of-Rock-N-Roll-Racing-In-DevelopmentWith absolutely no ties to the current holders of the Rock 'N' Roll Racing IP, a team of fanatical indie developers have begun work on a modern remake of the isometric heavy metal racer from the 90s. Currently sourcing funds via the IndieGoGo platform, this unofficial update is showing great promise and faithfulness to the original title.

Rock 'N Roll Racing was a cult classic of its time on both the Super Nintendo and Sega Mega Drive. Combining the two fearsome worlds of fast paced video game action and heavy metal, this isometric racer offered plenty of playability and even more action once its multiplayer mode was put to good use. Unfortunately for fans though, the series has fallen by the wayside in recent times since its last release in 1997 on the Sony PlayStation - Rock & Roll Racing 2: Red Asphalt.

The dedicated fans behind this remake, Rock 'N Roll Racing 3D, have not only stuck to the iconic isometric perspective for this arcade racer, but also introduced a more modern third person viewpoint to capture the on-screen carnage. While the recently uploaded trailer of the game in action leads us to believe we're in for a frantic helping of road rage, we cannot help but worry that this dedicated unofficial update may struggle to survive against the current copyright holders - given its unauthorised use of the game's name. Nevertheless, stay tuned to see where this flaming road will take us next.

Rock and Roll racing was ok, I'd rather someone remade Team 17's All Terrain Racing, now that was awesome!

Wow, this looks like a great update! I really hope they include the option to have your own soundtrack as I'm sure they won't be able to license the original versions of the songs used in the 16bit game. Great news all around, though!
