Unofficial Commodore Amiga Sonic The Hedgehog Clone ‘Blaze’ ADF Released For Download

Blaze-Sonic-Clone-For-AmigaAs much as we love the Commodore Amiga, there are few platformers on the system that can rival the likes of Sonic and Mario. Although remaining unreleased until now, things could have taken a drastic turn following the arrival of a Sonic The Hedgehog clone by the name of Blaze - a title which has just been resurrected by its original developer.

At a quick glance, it’s clear to see why Blaze never saw the light of day. Not only does the game draw clear inspirations from Sonic The Hedgehog, but its visual style, characteristics and gameplay is somewhat identical to Sega’s Mega Drive blockbuster. Having said that, Warp Software’s Keith Bugeja - the brains behind this technical demo - could have changed the Amiga gaming landscape forever had Blaze made its way onto the platform.

Either way this slice of gaming history is now out in the open for all to see. Released for free as a downloadable ADF file, fans of both Sega’s 16-bit epic and the Commodore Amiga can either enjoy Blaze through emulation, or on the original hardware through ADF writing tools. In the meantime, be sure to check out the game in action below.
