Unlicensed Sega Mega Drive Shmup 'Magic Girl' Set For Rerelease

Magic-Girl-Heading-To-Mega-Drive-AgainFasebonus who previously brought us the fantastic Mega Drive homebrew Oh Mummy are back with yet another physical cartridge release. Instead of turning to developers to provide an all new experience, the Spanish retro-publishers have turned to the back catalogue of pirate booty with the aim of re-releasing the unlicensed shooter Magic Girl.

This obscure scrolling shmup also known as Xiao Monv: Magic Girl first arrived on the Mega Drive back in 1993 in China. Although copies of this unlicensed release have found their way into collector’s hands, actually locating this game today is rather difficult - something Fasebonus aim to remedy.

The homebrew publisher has released a picture of the game’s box, manual and cartridge which sports the visual style of the earlier Mega Drive releases, all with the aim of gathering interest in a physical release. Fasebonus have asked that anyone hoping to pick up this title send them an email at the address listed in their latest update and await further news.
