Turrican Rebirth In The Works According To Retro Gamer Mag

Turrican-Rebirth-In-The-Works-According-To-Retro-Gamer-MagazineIn the latest edition of the German Retro Gamer Magazine, a retrospective on the fabled Turrican series held a snippet of information to get fans of the futuristic metal-clad platformer drooling. Apparently a brand new title in the series known as Turrican Rebirth is currently underway.

While very little information was disclosed about when we can expect this Turrican revival, the team behind this reboot have confirmed that it will indeed still feature the much loved 2D gameplay, which is due to be in development later this year.

Other paragraphs in the article suggested that gamers would be able to craft their own weaponry and levels, both of which will be shareable online.

The only piece of information we feel is currently missing is whether or not the legendary composer Chris Hülsbeck will be making a return to finish what he started in 1990 - something we'd expect to see given his recent work on the Turrican Soundtrack Anthology. Having said that though, other big names might be involved given that the rights holders have supposedly been in contact with Black Forest Games, the creators of the more recent Great Giana Sisters games.

OH MY GOD!!!!! Turrican had the best soundtrack of any game of its era on the old Amiga, I have the full soundtrack somewhere downloaded and listen to it all the time.

Also helped that it was utterly superb as a game, this is fantastic news, happy joy joy moment for me for sure!
