Toejam & Earl: Back In The Groove Funded Via Kickstarter

ToeJam-and-Earl-Back-In-The-Groove-Funded-Via-KickstarterJust a mere few weeks after it was announced that Toejam and Earl would be making a funky return, a Kickstarter campaign launched to help make the dream a reality. After a month's worth of seeking funding, the game's original creator Greg Johnson of Humanature Studios has reached the Kickstarter goal of $400,000, finally giving the unusual duo of alien-rappers their first video game outing since 2002 in Toejam & Earl: Back in the Groove.

Opting to stick to the formula of the ToeJam and Earl original, Humanature are bringing back the bonkers gameplay of the Mega Drive classic that we all know and love. Set to feature a more polished look through crisper visuals and cell-shaded graphics, this is yet another retro revival we would have never seen without the likes of Kickstarter. Amongst the promise of classic gameplay, Humanature have also stated that the game will introduce a 4-player co-operative mode all whilst acknowledging that the multiplayer mode of the original is what made ToeJam and Earl so good.

The game is supposedly due for release in November 2015, a time when Kickstarter backers will also be seeing various goodies such as vinyl figures, clothing, and a digital soundtrack to the game. Until then, dust off your Mega Drive and take a trip down to funk-a-tron to remember a time when multiplayer gaming required you to all huddle around one TV.
