The Power Of Glove: A Documentary On The Nintendo NES's Most Notorious Accessory

Power-Of-Glove-Documentary-KickstarterTwenty five years ago a gaming accessory was unleashed on the world that would change the playing field forever. The Power Glove held such great promise within its futuristic fingertips, although the technology within failed to impress. Fast forward to today and this unusual controller has since become one ingrained in pop-culture, modern modifications, and retro gamer’s hearts - so much so it’s getting its very own documentary.

The Power Of Glove is an all new film being put together by three video game historians. This team are not only hoping to immortalise the Nintendo NES accessory, but also provide the most conclusive source of information on the device through interviews with the device’s creators and much more.

Going by The Power Of Glove’s trailer, plenty of memorable TV commercials and segments from on air years ago seem to have made their way into the cut, along with interesting anecdotes from individuals around the world who have been inspired by the device. This includes artists who have glamorized the accessory, musicians using it within their jam, and other Power Glove footage from the archives which has never been seen before.

The Power Of Glove is currently seeking $15,000 in funding on Kickstarter, with just under a month to go. $10 donations will secure a digital download of the documentary, whilst bigger spenders can enjoy receiving the film on VHS tape, t-shirts, signed video games, and of course the Power Glove itself.

"It's better than bad, it's good!" And yet log was more useful for gaming because you could sit on it or throw it at the screen when you lose.
