The Atari 2600 Encyclopaedia Volume One Book Announced

The-Atari-2600-Encyclopaedia-Volume-One-Book-AnnouncedThe Atari 2600 is without a doubt one of the most pivotal systems to have ever graced our gaming world. Having revolutionised the industry in the late seventies, its timeless design and releases have easily influenced many of the games we know and love today. With such a rich history on offer, one video game historian has decided to document the platform's back catalogue with the newly announce The Atari 2600 Encyclopaedia Volume One.

This full colour book is set to span a massive 400+ pages covering the North American library of classics from Berserk to Berenstain Bears. Each page is littered with a write up on the game's action, all whilst being accompanied by an array of visuals such as screenshots, box art, and other supporting material. Pitched as being the definitive companion to any Atari 2600 gamer's collection, this upcoming release is one you don't want to miss - especially given that the author Derek Slaton is well accustomed to documenting our gaming past, following his prior efforts with the Sega Master System.

Due to span a few volumes, the first entry in the Atari 2600 Encyclopaedia series is currently with the printers and is expected to be finished within a matter of weeks. Estimated to cost around $50 for a physical print of the book and just $15 for a digital copy, Atari gamers should stay tuned for further updates on this exciting book's release.
