Taito's Elevator Action Getting HD Treatment In Elevator Action Deluxe

Taitos-Elevator-Action-Getting-HD-Treatment-In-Elevator-Action-DeluxeAs video game developers begin to see the everlasting life within our favourite retro games, it's inevitable the remastered HD treatment will be heading their way. Elevator Action is no different, as SquareEnix are currently in the process of releasing the all new Elevator Action Deluxe.

Going all the way back to 1983 when the game first arrived in arcades, little has been done with the skyscraper scaling series since. In 28 years just a mere three games have surfaced under the name, the incredible Japanese Sega Saturn/Arcade exclusive; Elevator Action Returns, Game Boy Advance remake; Elevator Action Old & New and the Game Boy Color re-imagining; Elevator Action EX.

Elevator Action Deluxe hopes to remedy this by bringing a true retro remake into play. From the gameplay footage available, it's clear that just about every in-game mechanic has remained intact for this new outing, along with the promise of the original game being included within.

The remake is set to arrive on the PlayStation Network on the 31st August.

One of my all-time favourite coin-ops. I would put many 10p pieces into this arcade cab back in 1983/84 when I was a young teenager. The coin-op original is also packaged with the Sega Saturn game ELEVATOR ACTION RETURNS, which I imported from Japan when it was reoleased and I have the two Game Boy games too, so will be getting this to complete the collection again.

Please get it right Squeenix
