Survival Horror Adventure 'Alone In The Dark' Port In Development For Sega Dreamcast

Alone-In-The-Dark-Dreamcast-PortWhile Resident Evil and Silent Hill may have pipped Alone in the Dark to the title of best horror video game of yesteryear, the 1992 classic is looking set for an update re-release - albeit unofficially. One homebrew Sega Dreamcast developer is currently porting the game's engine to the 128-bit console, with promising results.

Although there is still plenty of work to be done, Calfiornia-based Dreamcast developer Corbyn recently shared with the community her plans to modernise Infogrames critically acclaimed title and her current progress. Not only is the game working and mostly playable (aside from several flaws) with more polished visuals, but also the sequel is showing signs of working on the Dreamcast too.

As of now a video of the cleverly titled 'Dream In The Dark' can be seen below via YouTube, however, keen horror gamers will have to wait patiently for further updates on Corbyn's progress.

I've just acquired a Dreamcast, first time I've ever played on one, lovely machine, even though mines seems a little broken (re-setting itself). I'd love to get my hands on this :D my game collection is currently a little small.
