Super Thunder Drive III - New Sega 32X game arriving in 2011

Super-Thunder-Drive-IIIWhile we await our copy of Pier Solar to arrive, others who have got their hands on the game early have been reporting on something rather interesting. Inside the packaging lies a flyer for an upcoming Sega Mega Drive 32X homebrew game; Super Thunder Drive III.

Very little information regarding the new title is known as of yet. In development by Robotek Interactive, it is not currently known if this studio is linked to Watermelon Games or is in fact Watermelon under a different name. The screenshots on the flyer hint at a racing game in a similar style to Outrun, Jaguar XJ220 and Lotus Turbo Challenge, with one of the screenshots showing off two player split screen gameplay.

Other features/hints on the flyer are:

EXTREME 60FPS 32X ACTION
256 HIGH COLOR VISUALS
OUTRAGEOUS HI-REZ TITLE SCREEN
128MEG POWER CARTRIDGE

Aside from the flyer, there is a place holder website for Super Thunder Drive III showcasing the upcoming games' logo.

Our fingers crossed this is legitimate as we can't turn down the opportunity to own more retro games. More information and a hi-res scan will be posted up as soon as we get our hands on anything!

Now that's awesome, a 32X homebrew. Might actually get that, depending on the price ;)
