Super Monkey Ball set to return on the Nintendo 3DS

Super-Monkey-Ball-Returns-on-Nintendo-3DSIf there is one game from the last decade we love more than anything, it's Super Monkey Ball. 9 years after it's first outing on the Nintendo Gamecube it is set to return on the Nintendo 3DS.

The simplistic yet challenging gameplay has often drawn us into Super Monkey Ball, along with the various sequels and spin offs. The announcement of Super Monkey Ball 3DS comes as a real treat as we begin to save our pennies for the launch of the promising new handheld.

Super Monkey Ball 3DS should sit rather nicely between the other announced 3DS titles aimed at retro gamers such as the Legend Of Zelda Ocarina of Time remake and rumoured Lylat Wars 64 (Starfox 64) remake. With other retro friendly titles on the horizon such as Mario Kart and Kid Icarus, the handheld will no doubt be as successful as the last.

A short, yet promising gameplay video has been released of the new Super Monkey Ball 3DS, but similar to the rest of the footage it's rather tricky working out how the 3D effect of the 3DS will be used.
