Super Mario Kart Alternative Tracks 2 ROM Hack Brings More Action & New Courses To The SNES Racer

Super-Mario-Kart-Alternative-Tracks-2-ROM-Hack-Brings-More-Action-To-The-SNES-RacerIf the name Sami Cetin rings a bell, you'll be very much aware that some people have mastered every trick and turn of road the original Super Mario Kart has to offer. Knowing this, the learner drivers amongst us are in luck. The playing field has been leveled with a newly released ROM Hack of the Super Nintendo racer featuring a plethora of new racing tracks and ideas.

Talented ROM hacker by the name of elricorico has dived deep into Super Mario Kart's game code to carefully sculpt all new tracks for the taking. Each and every once familiar track such as Mario Circuit, Donut Plains and Ghost Valley has been remapped out to offer an all new experience. The best part of all though is that core of the game remains the same, allowing you to rekindle your love for the racer once more.

A patch to get hold of these new tracks can now be downloaded. As usual, to enjoy this ROM hack patch you will need to have an original Super Mario Kart ROM file to which you can apply this patch to. Full instructions on how to patch this ROM can be found within the download, or you can refer to this handy ROM patching guide on YouTube.

That name, more than rings a bell, gives me bloody nightmares! Stopped me from being crowned Retrocollect Nintendo challenge champ!! Seriously though, he did show me this ROM running and it ran perfectly glitch free. The box he had for it looked pretty decent as well. Great stuff!

Aha! My mixup, I'm pretty sure he showed me the ROM running but also showed me the Parigo Kart from his bag as a curio.

Yes the Super Parigo Kart game... i bought the cartridge and box down to Play Expo 2012, Leyla Hasso was playing some of the tracks. They are rock hard design (except a few easy ones) but playable once you know the routes. One track is great and reminds of an F-Zero type course.

It was developed in 2009 as a limited edition only for the competitors of the yearly World Championships in France. Only 39 copies exist Worldwide and 6 of those copies are in the UK. Next time there is an event please give me a shout and il bring it down to show you guys.
