Unreleased Nightmare Busters for Super Nintendo coming soon

Nightmare-Busters-New-Super-Nintendo-GameAs if Super Fighter Team didn't give the retro gaming community enough this week. A teaser page was put up for their next game to be released, Nightmare Busters for the Super Nintendo.

Set to follow after their release of Star Odyssey, the unreleased Super Nintendo game is set to be a big hit amongst retro gamers. Nightmare Busters was originally set to be released some time in 1995, but sadly remained unreleased until it was ported to mobile phones as Flynn's Adventures.

As expected from the world of gaming and lost treasures, a prototype eventually surface and made it's way online. The Assembler messageboard all chipped in together to cover the cost of the prototype with the main aim of releasing a ROM image to the public.

The game follows in the footsteps of the major running shooters such as Contra, Metal Slug and Gunstar Heroes. Nightmare Busters offers a tough challenge and some impressive graphics for the Super Nintendo, really making the community wonder why it remained unreleased.

Super Fighter Team now have the rights to the game and are preparing a fully packaged cartridge release next year. What must be noted here is that SFT have hold of the complete source code which apparently is more complete than the prototype ROM available online. Make sure you play their version when it's released.
