Crystal Beans: From Dungeon Explorer was an enhanced Super Famicom port of the Turbografx 16 CD game Dungeon Explorer II. With all new visuals and a selection of changes within, gamers outside of Japan sadly never got to enjoy Hudson Soft's action-adventure game, at least until the arrival of a fan translation patch.
While a quick glance at the screenshots would have you screaming 'Zelda-clone', Crystal Beans: From Dungeon Explorer is more a hybrid between traditional RPGs and The Legend of Zelda. The game consists of gameplay similar to that found in Hyrule, however the game follows more of a Fantasy and Dragon Quest led path due to the ability to level up and choose between different classes.
The newly released fan translation for this 1995 game has been released on ROMhacking and can now be downloaded.
